Hey guys, this may have already been answered or may be a dumb post but, I’m fairly new to the forums.
i have a 2005 c6 ls2 getting a ECS NOVI 1500 supercharger kit along with a blower cam with supporting mods. The car already has a borla cat-back type-s exhaust but, stock headers and cats.
I have searched and can’t find just the headers with high flow cats. I don’t need the full system just aftermarket high flow headers and high flow cats. Utah requires cats for emissions or it wouldn’t be a problem. I can only find the headers and high flow cats separately that will need to be welded together. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks guys, again sorry for the noob question.
With all headers you will purchase the headers & an x-pipe with high-flow cats if that’s what you need. The will come boxed separately & you put them together (install the cats in the x-pipe & connect the x-pipe to the headers & axle-back exhaust).
I recommended Custom Corvette Accessories (CCA) for your header needs.
There are no aftermarket headers that I am aware of that have cats integrated into them for a C6 Corvette. All of the header systems will be a set of headers and a catted x-pipe.
The only other option would be to run shorty headers and keep your factory cats. The shorty headers just replace the manifolds.
If you install a set of long tube headers, you will also need the header manufacturer's intermediate pipe (y-pipe) that connects between that particular brand of headers and your stock or aftermarket axle-back mufflers.
It's your choice whether you get this intermediate pipe with cats or without cats (the cats are in the y-pipe, not in the headers).
My suggestion is to get the y-pipe with cats.
Here you can see a set of headers with the separate y-pipe that has the cats installed in them ...
