I jumped a car using the battery terminals before noticing the proper way to use the fuse terminal and engine block bolt. Now my check engine lights on and reading a P1682 ignition 1 switch circuit 2 which said to replace the ignition relay so I did but it still has the check engine and the ignition button has to be pushed a couple times to shut the car off and light which STAYS on even after the cars off until the battery dies. Any help would be greatly appreciated it’s a 2009 C6 1LT After I pulled the ecm fuse and put it back the check eng light went out but now after starting it a couple times it’s back on. This is driving me crazy my buddy’s a top tech at pep boys and he said just jumping a car from the terminals shouldn’t have messed up anything so I’m gonna lose it if I don’t get this resolved! Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Also when I try to shut the car off the button dosent stop the engine I have to hold it then the engine finally sputters out. Wtf??
update: checked battery level on a tender it said it was at 2% so fully charged it and all seems ok but I’ll have to keep checking it to make sure
The ECM has two ignition circuits supplying power to it from two different relays. If the ECM sees a difference of more than 3 volts between the ignition feeds, it will set this code. I would check the ECM/TCM/EASY KEY fuse and the PT INPUT fuse in the underhood fuse block. Also check the ECM fuse at the BCM.
