Good Evening vette family. So I recently had a valve drop in cylinder 2, even though they were “fixed” by LG Motorsports. The damage is catastrophic. Having to do a full motor rebuild. My question and concern is: Other than replacing oil cooler and oil pump, is there anything else you wouldn’t use? Second; How would you flush the lines and anything else, to make sure there is no debris that enters the new motor/system. Any threads, videos, and guidance is greatly appreciated. To show you how bad it is, I will give you a little taste with pictures and a video(if they post). Thank you for your time and help!
Damn. Sucks to see and hear. You'll be cleaning metal frag out of that for a long time. You're already tracking on the oil system, but in addition...the coolant passages were compromised, so metal is likely in the cooling system as well. Won't affect the new motor per se...but expect to do 3-4 cooling system flushes to get all the flakes out.

don’t want to sound dumb but is there any way to flush it without putting it on the new motor? Like do they design or rent out machines or pumps to cycle it through? Thanks for the reply 🤙🏼
I know you could flush the radiator and hoses quite easily by just removing them and running a ton of water through them. Same with the water pump. It's going to be a bit more taxing getting flush/water through the heater core. Maybe put a hose on the inlet line going to the core and then extending the outlet hose somewhere that wont spill stuff everywhere. Although with the engine out of the car...none of it should be really "HARD" to flush.

If LS7 go to Z06/ZR1 forum, https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...1-and-z06-136/
A lot of threads discuss what needs to be done w/ a fragged LS7.
Several discuss what needs to be done to flush system, w/ directions & comments.
Most longtime Z06 owners had heads rebuilt w/ new guides etc specifically to minimize this happening.
I know I did, 12 years ownership w/ 60K.
Sorry to hear yours bit the dust, but if it is a LS7 it was preventable.

As stated in my post: it was “fixed” by LG Motorsports. They heads were CNCd, new guides, valves, springs. Even got their cam and tubes. Thank you for the link. I will check into it.

He said in his OP that he did have the work done at LG Motorsports, and the engine grenaded after the work was done. I just hope LG is stepping up and covering the cost for their work failing.

Good grief, misread, sorry 'bout that.
Yours is maybe the 2nd rebuild reported to have failed.
Know exactly what failed?
Thank you for the link. I will check into it.
Please do, LS7/9 forum is where owners lurk and several w/ interesting HP builds.
Many LS7 owners will be interested hearing this, and there'll be no shortage of opins/advise, almost all solid.

Valve drop in cylinder 2. Piston went through the side of the block and cracked it all the way around on cylinder 2.
