Did this mod too some time ago with MGW shifter. Ended up using both washers.
This is all subjective of course, while observing comments / profiles regarding this mod it seems T56 vehicle years end up more often with 2 washers. Think TR6060 is a bit smoother from the factory.
I just put in an MGW shifter and did the one washer antivenom mod without even trying the shifter alone first. It feels great to me.
How do you like the MGW in comparison to the stock shifter? I have the MGW as well and installed one washer. I may just remove the washer and run the shifter as it was made since I don’t bang the shifts anyway😆
Just put 1 washer in. Seriously, i couldn't feel any difference. Anybody try 1 washer, then add the 2nd and notice an improvement?
Do you have an aftermarket shifter or stock?

I can’t see me banging shifts either, but from what I read the added washer would ease going into reverse. I figure as easy as the washer mod was, I could pull it out and see, however after a quick 30-ish mile run, I’m extremely pleased with the feel of the MGW and one washer. Unless something changes I see no reason to remove the washer.
On my car there isn't any sloppiness in any gear! I have MGW shifter and 1 washer. feels good to me!
Same here. I’d only driven the car about 50 miles before doing the mod so I didn’t have a lot to compare, but judging by the feedback on the forum, I figured this was a mod I’d want to do. I love the positive feel.
That said, I feel like the throw into 4th is shorter than other gears. Not sure if that’s my
imagination or I have a problem of some sort, or need to make an adjustment. I followed the install instructions exactly as posted on MGW and made sure to use the alignment tool as well. Has anyone else had this symptom?
