I have a 2010 Base Model C6 - I'll can be driving down the road everything shuts down radio goes off and AC shuts off and all my lights on the dash goes off and on all the service messages comes on and off but the car keeps running. I've checked all plugs to the CPU I've replaced the Alternator and replaced the Battery and I still have the problem please help. I've even checked the kick plate on the passenger floor board.
I remember when I replaced my alternator we forgot to torque down the ground bolt on the block. My car shut off 3 times driving and eventually found out it was that and torqued it down with no more issues.
I can be driving down the road and the car keeps running but all my head lights shut off and I lose all dash lights. then they all come back and it wont happen for awhile.
Closely inspect starter connections.
Somewhat common complaint, especially w/ cars in warm climates and/or w/ headers.
Solenoid connector's are made of bakelite, get brittle w/ age & repeated heat cycles & fail.
Right now it may not be completely broken, giving intermittent outages.
Eventually it'll completely crack/break causing a total and permanent loss of power.
Get it in the air, confirm connections are solid, use a flashlight & pliers to gently tug/test lugs & poles.
If battery's left connected be damned carful not to inadvertently ground on anything while probing/checking.
Be in even bigger trouble if it does, so be careful.
If securing lugs are tight can rule out starter and must dig deeper.
Well found the Problem, it was at the Battery the positive side it was just lose enough that when it heated up from charging it would wiggle and lose connection.

Thats why use a rubber mallet to knock the connectors down on the posts before tightening. Good to hear it was a simple fix.
