Default Navigation Pointer Will Not Calibrate.

I did a search, and in fact, I've searched outside of the Corvette Forum as well. Here's what I have come up with and read from top to bottom:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...gh-5-a-19.html

This guy seems to have had the same problem I have, but he was having a hard time getting people to understand what the problem was. I understood as soon as I read it because it is EXACTLY my problem, and unfortunately, there does not seem to have been any resolution for him:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ion-arrow.html

So, with that said, let me explain my problem and what I have tried in order to correct it.

I have a 2013 C6 Base with a 2012 Navigation unit and HUD retrofitted to the car. The Tech 2 procedure was performed in order to match the new unit to my cars VIN, and the Nav unit worked fine initially, but soon after (I do not recall how much time had passed, or what may have been done to change it) I noticed the pointer was not pointing in the same direction as my car, nor would it change position, its always pointed in the same direction and doesn't either when the car changes position, or when the map orientation is changed - its just stuck.

Knowing there is a calibration procedure, I referenced the navigation manual and went through the entire calibration procedure. Once I had the pointer aligned with the direction of the car, I pressed OK and the pointer immediately reverted to the previous incorrect orientation. I have performed this procedure several times while sitting in my driveway or along side the road, with a good, solid GPS signal, and I always get the same result - it will calibrate, but when OK is selected, it immediately reverts to its previous incorrect orientation. Hoping to reset the unit, I disconnected the battery, and when reconnected, the problem remained.

I have searched and searched, even reading through Paul Koerners blogs and various posts, and have found nothing. I did find one other person that had the same problem (noted above) but reading through the posts, people kept telling him to perform the procedure, or switch map orientation, both of which he already had, and to no avail. This leads me to believe it needs some sort of firmware update - just like the pre-2011 navigation unit clock issue that happens after a battery disconnect, but so far I have seen no such fix available for the pointer issue - which leads me to believe it is not as common and widespread as the clock issue.

If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this issue, please let me know! Please do not suggest replacing the unit with an aftermarket one, that is not an option, and I feel the navigation procedures are simple enough that I don't need anything "more intuitive." I just need to fix the pointer, and that's all I need to do.

Supporting information:
I purchased the car last May with 12k miles on it.
The car came with the base sound system in it - no nav, no Bose, nothing fancy at all except XM - if you want to call that fancy.
I added both the HUD and the factory nav unit at the same time (@ ~25k mi.), both worked fine once the Tech 2 marrying procedure was performed. The car now has ~28K mi. on it and this problem started maybe 1k mi ago at the most, probably less than that.
There are no other modifications on the car yet, there are some that will be added soon, but nothing at the time that the pointer stopped functioning, just the HUD and the nav unit.
When we did the Tech 2 procedure, we did forget to place a * next to HUD, so while the nav unit functions and the HUD functions, the navigation information is not displayed on the HUD (will fix this soon, just haven't had a chance to go back up to the other members house yet).
When I put the HUD in I used the cut the duct method, and when I did, I made sure that the GPS antenna was in the correct, factory location, and secured properly (i.e. with factory push pins in the factory holes for the push pins (no, it wasn't easy).
The windows do have ceramic tint, but it was applied before the nav and HUD installation, and the nav unit worked fine when I first installed it.
I have never had an issue with the "No GPS" symbol appearing on the unit except when in my garage.
There are no lights or no codes showing, and there are no messages in my DIC (sorry, had to do it).

Okay, I think that about covers it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
