Default Fobs

My fob quit opening the door locks lately, when i got in by pushing the unlock button the DIC says fob not detected so i pushed the unlock button again and all is well, could it be the battery is weak? If i were at home i would try the spare fob but thats not possible.

Could be a low fob battery, could be a strong external electronic field, could be something plugged into the electrical outlet in the console.

GM says the fob batteries should last about 3 years, but forum members here have seen widely varying results. I had 2 of my C6s for 4 years and only had to replace 1 fob battery.

Classic symptoms of weak fob battery.

IDK why folks worry about this possible scenario, because this could happen to any of this at any time.

If you know your key works in the rear slot, then if this happens, then use the key, Open the trunk, pull the tab to open the driver's door. Put the fob in glove box slot . Start!

Always a good idea to carry a spare battery in your car. Yes you can get away with not having it. But it’s nice to have at a cheap price. I keep a few in the glove box. Just Incase. I do a lot of group cruises and it’s come in handy a few times.

Its funny, talking about how long a battery lasts, i have never changed the battery in my truck in 9 years. Beginning to think there is a tiny solar panel in the fob.lol

It'll bet that replacing the battery will solve your problem.
