Have a 2012 GS that today the computer coded that all my tires had high pressure. They are all 34 psi when cold and when i checked them after this code all were 41 psi, that
dosen't seem high to me. It cant be all tire sensors went bad, any body with some ideas? Thanks
41 psi and above will trigger a high pressure warning. I know this because one of the clowns at the tire shop where I last had tires installed overfilled one of them and when it heated up a bit on the highway, the pressure increased to that point. I think your user manual also mentions this. Always best to carry a good old analogue manual gauge to do a sanity check on what the DIC is telling you. You get about a 1 psi change in pressure for every 10 degree difference. So if your cold pressure of 34 psi was at 60 F, then on a stinking hot day on the highway when the ambient was 100 F, and rolling resistance has raised the tire temps to 130 F, then you've got a 70 F temperature swing, and a 7 psi rise in pressure, and you've got your 41 psi reading. As others have pointed out, adjust the cold pressure to 30, as per the info on the door jamb. And get that analogue gauge!
I have my tire pressure at 30 psi cold. While driving, depending on the outside temps and driving conditions, they will go up another 4-6 psi. Set you tire pressure to the recommended 30 psi and all should be good.
