Shifter fix
Was having my upholsterer guy install new boot in my 08 c6 a6 and since he was going to have it apart i suggested he do the fix on the stuck shifter problem.showed him where to find the video for the fix where they snip off the pawl.when i picked up the car it was fine and felt normal.After a couple of days drove for a while and the shifter felt a little weird,when i went to put it back in the garage after putting it in park the DIC came on and said move to park.I moved it back and forth a few times and still got the same message.The engine will shut down but the start button won't let it shut the electrical to the off position.Anyone ever have this problem?Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.Thanks.

Probably the shifter is not making good contact with the microswitch metal contact. You can try to bend the arm a little so there is better contact with the shifter. Be careful not to bend it too much or it may break. try this first when putting in park next time push on the shifter forward a bit more and see if the message disappears.
