Setting the time is no big deal, but does anyone know how to set the year, month, and date on a nav equipped C6?

You can't manually set the date. It's calculated from the GPS signal. If your NAV system is pre '11, you should apply the firmware fix, otherwise the date may appear to be about 20 years old. Also, make sure the time zone is set and saved.

Pressing the clock will display today’s date. Holding the clock button will
take you to a shortcut for setting the clock and adjusting the time zone.

I have the date problem on my nav-equipped 2008. The firmware fix you referenced...is that the same one I see on here having to do with the clock not showing? If so, I followed the directions for that...burned cd, ran it, etc. The update ran, but it did not fix the 'date' issue. Is there another firmware fix for this that I don't know about? Thx

AFAIK, there is no other firmware fix. I've attached a NAV manual for a 2011, and a 2006 (I don't have one for your 2008, but they should all work the same way) for you to look at, but nowhere in there is an indication of how to manually set the date, only the time. One thing for sure: the NAV system needs to be able to 'see' the GPS satellite array in order for the date and time to be updated, so make sure that this is the case.

Finally, to force an update of time (and presumably date) from the GPS signal, press and hold the clock display to bring up the clock adjust screen. Then, press GPS TIME to update the NAV system's time to the current GPS time. Make sure that the time zones and DST fields also reflect where you are.

My '05 thinks it's 2001.

I'm just glad the clock is back, so I don't care what year it shows.
