I need a Traction Control button and male link for my 2012 base CE. I can find the button part all over the place, but I cannot find the male plug-in link. Must it be a 2012/13 to work? I could not find the actual GM parts dept. page (brain fart)...kept winding up on private seller's pages. I need both the push button and the male plug-in link that goes into the button. I don't need help finding the button...need both the button and male link. Thanks for any help you can give.

Edit: this is for the button. Not sure about the male plug.

And I may have posted too quickly. Fitment guide says it fits a 2008 but not a 2012. I'm not sure what the difference, if any, there is. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful. Good luck.

Maybe I can get help another way....I've had a biatch of a day, and cannot think clearly. I want to try Chevy parts from General Motors, for sale, new...NOT A RESELLER, which seems to be all I can come up with. for the life of me, I cannot reach Chevrolet parts without pulling up 100 resellers. Help??????

You can get the connector as a splice kit pre wired from GM directly, or just go to Mouser to order the connector with pins isntead.

dano, thanks for the reply. Using the description, "C6 Corvette traction control link", I got nothing from Mouser, and only the button everywhere else. Obviously, I am doing something wrong. I will go to my Chevy dealer today and see what they come up with.

Going to be a bit, since I just need to pull up the GMSI wiring diagram for the button connector,and it will give me both the connector type, as well as GM number for the connector.

This is not it, but gives the idea once I pull up the wiring diagram in GMSI to get GM's part number for the connector, as well as description type to just order it with pins from Mouser a hell of lot cheaper instead.

Try part# 12102900 for the socket that the TC switch plugs into. This socket may be used in other places. Maybe the parts dept. at your local Chevy Dealer can help? Good Luck!

Chevy dealer was no help at all...could not even find the part. Showed me the diagram of the part, and there was no link included. He deduced that it is a part of one of many wiring harnesses, and would be quite expensive. It certainly was not in the diagram with the button, but I got the feeling he had no idea. The part number you gave me is for a similar link but would not work with the button. The male link I need is round, and has 4 small bayonets--two per side--and a resistor bulb. I have no idea what I am going to do if I can't find it. I am sure the TC is not the only place it has ever been in use, but I cannot find anything resembling it. I was hoping someone had one left over from a build or something.

Hence have the parts guy go to "Component Connector End Views" in GMSI, then scroll down to "Traction Control Switch (TCS)" and click it, and it will give him the oem part number, as well as the description.

Page 6 part F if you want to track it that way, instead of digging through mousers pages to find it instead.

Jab, this is getting a bit dicey. I can get no line on the 2012/13 version. The one you/Dano posted is the 2008/11 version. GM also changed the button in 2012, though it was the same size. I am now wondering, IF I am unable to get the 2012 version, what if I bought the 2008/11 version, with same year button, and used that? The difference appears to be that the newer button had the word "off" printed on it, in addition to the vehicle drawing.

Is anyone out there aware of any difference in the operation of the 2011 vs. 2012 traction control? If I can't get the correct button and link for a '12, would I be able to use the '11?

Interesting that I never noticed the difference but you’re right my ‘12 GS had off on the button & my ‘11 Z06 does not.

I found slight differences between the ‘11 & ‘12 owner’s manuals in section 9-38 with respect to turning the systems off via the button. The ‘12 manual mentions “StabiliTrak system” whereas the ‘11 manual doesn’t mention this. Not sure if that is a change between years or not.

Whatever happened to your original button and connector/harness?

I did the tie-back fix on the release lever/pawl. In doing so, I could tell that the main console had been removed before, and the button and link separated, and put back together poorly. The link tabs were broken off, and the button slots were busted. In separating the link, the resistor got bent, and whatever creates the "spring action" of the button was lost/broken. Now, the button simply sits in the detent position, and the link is bent a bit so that it cannot be inserted correctly into the button, and does not hold in place. I do not want to patch it together, even if that could be done, only to have it break at some point.
