Default c6 Headers Question

Hi All,
Have a 2007 base C6 and I am thinking about putting a set of headers on her. Have seen a few posts talking about how low some headers can be and I don't need anything habging too low. Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks
GR

If you're buying from the supporting vendors here you'll be fine.

Don't go looking at some cheap ebay headers or something like that.

most say that Kooks are best fit and quality .

I ended up going with the OBX brand and I like them and they don't hang TOO low. (got them for a great deal - $550 shipped to my door with x pipe)

I think ALL headers are going to hang a bit lower, but I agree with the above post.....don't go with a really cheap knock off .

I have Texas Speed headers and couldn't be happier. They're also much less expensive than Kooks or ARH. Some say they hang low, but looking at my headers on a lift most of the stuff on the bottom of the car hangs lower than the headers do. I'm not worried about them at all.

I have had both ARH and Kooks.

With ARH, I had to bend the frame seam weld on the passenger side so they would clear. I also had to bend the transmission coolant lines so they would not touch the headers (the lines were still too close).

The Kooks I currently have, fit perfect and there was at least 1/4 inch clearance everywhere. No modification necessary.

Default +1 for Kooks

I agree with Spaceme1117. My Kooks went in with no issues and adequate clearance everywhere in my 2006 convertible.

All of your responses made me think of the child song, "Do your ears hang low". Anyone else know what I'm talking about? I have a 2 year old.

So now ask yourself:
Do your headers hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you make them quieter
If you had a NPP controller?
Do your headers hang low?

Do your headers stick out?
Can you waggle them about?
Can you flap them up and down
As you drive around the town?
Did you have to modify them in any way
To get them to fit inside the engine bay?
Do your headers stick out?

I have had the OBX headers and X pipe on mine for about 10 years with zero issues. People knock them but we got good gains with them, same as ones costing 3 times as much.
I have tracked mine so have put some heat through them and like I said zero issues.

Yes Kooks are more money, but they fit perfectly. Spend the extra money and avoid headaches in the long run. I ran Kooks on all my builds, never had any issues whatsoever. Good luck.

I have the Blackheart shorty's, excellent fit and bolt right up to the oem downpipes. Yes, not going to make as much hp as a long tube, as good as the Z06 manifolds and good enough for a street car.

Stick with quality headers such as Kooks or ARH, you get what you pay for

OK, so I have had zero issues in 10 years with OBX, zero fitment issues but apparently people still think the cheaper headers are crap. I would say some people are brain washed into thinking the Corvette tax is a necessity. Yes do your homework, and go from there, but don't rule something out because it is cheaper.

I have LG Pro long tubes. Been on my 2006 since 2009. No issues with fit or low hanging.
