I was cruising with my baby yesterday and met another Corvette enthusiast who insisted I should use Turtle Wax Ice product. He swore up and down about it. Anyone have experience using this synthetic wax product?
Yes, for the price and durability, it is one of the easiest entry level waxes/sealants to use. Easy application, long lasting (6 months+) and decent gloss. Also can use it on trim, interior and just about anything.
Didn't think the gloss was that great, and didn't think it lasted that long. It definitely was easy to put on, and there was no white residue to deal with.
Some guys like blondes and some like brunettes... I found it's best to try a few different things and see what ya like.
True. But, this guy likes both. Sometimes at the same time because life is short. I'll even throw in a ginger if I can find one that isn't batshit crazy.

Ceramic coat it and be done with it. You can drive it instead of spending time waxing it, unless you just like to spend time waxing a car. I'm so picky when I used to wax my cars that it was at least a half-day job with a buffing wheel.
Turtle Wax Ice, I love the stuff. I use the spray wax as a detailer every time I wash the car. I use the Ice Wax liquid twice a year. I think the gloss is pretty good! It also beads up really well.
You will get every type of reply you can think of on a topic like this. There are hundreds of threads on this subject. What it all comes down to is what you want out of a product and what results you are looking for. You can old the simple wash and wash the car dry it and then put a coat of wax on it for protection. You can wash it, polish it and then wax it. It simply goes on and on with the many different steps and products. If you want a shoe car shine you will need to spend a good amount of time and different steps to get that deep wet looking shine. AS I mentioned if you just want it to have a shine the wash it and wax it.
I have gone the complete circle from not knowing the difference to now going the ceramic route.
It's good stuff. I don't use it on my Corvette but it makes waxing a full size SUV a breeze. Easy on, easy off with no residue and it gives a great shine. I like it.
This product has carnauba in it, which breaks down in the heat produced by direct sunlight. If you car spends any extended amount of time in the sun, such as, car shows I would suggest finding an alternative that does not contain carnauba. I use Zaino myself, which has a UV protectant and no carnauba so it doesn't break down.
