Default Alternator Covers

Hey does anyone run with alternator covers on their car all the time? And if so have a link to which one you use?

I'm looking for a way to protect mine due to a vented hood but some of them I see specifically state that it's for 'show use only'.

I recently installed the American Car Craft stainless steel with carbon fiber insert. Got it for $117 on Amazon. I painted mine flat black with a matte clear coat & removed the crossed-flags insert. I painted the insert inferno orange metallic to match my car but not sure if I want to put it back in.

Some people don’t like them, some people do. My car was in a huge Vette show this past weekend & I received a lot of compliments on it, fwiw.

How it came

Painted crossed-flag insert

Painted and installed

I did have to cut this section off to get it to fit due to the supercharger. Should have no fitment issues with standard Corvettes.

I have the same one as Jabcat, but with red carbon fiber flags and I left mine stainless. Been on there for three years with no problems. Got it from forum member American Car Craft.

Jabcat,

Man, I think that painted orange flags would look great in your engine bay. Would give it a little color. It’s looks good as is too, but I like a splash of color in the engine bay too.

Thanks! I haven’t decided yet. Maybe if I add a few more small orange accents, or I may just keep it black and CF.

Thanks ... Mine is pretty 'plain jane', but goes pretty well with all the other black stuff on the engine.
