Good day all! Just joined your group in hopes of finding some kind soul to advise me off and on over the coming months. I just purchased a 06 Corvette LS2 and transmission from a salvage firm that I will be installing in a 1937 Chevy Coupe. There are some design features rather unique to the Vette application that may give me some challenges. First issue I see is that the wiring harness to the main fuse box has been clipped off. Both ends of the wires are present but there’s dozens of conductors...many appear to not be color coded. Does anyone know if it’s possible to replace just the harness to that? Thanks from Montana-
Need wiring harness info, right?
Members frequenting C6 Tech are the ones likely to have done various builds using CX components, if anywhere.
Not that there're aren't builders in C6 Gen, there've been a few.
Goal is getting question in front of the right eyes, though.
If no one helps here, C6 Tech's where the answers you need probably are from those who'd know.
Since your not going to be running the stock BCM, or stock ECM that will need the stock BCM and even RCDLR to work correctly, look at aftermarket ECM's that most will come with their own wiring harnesses (or you can make your own wiring harness from the after market ECM specs instead)..
As for the 2006 a6 auto trans, it has it's TCM in it, and the after market ECM will work with it as well.

Thanks! A lot of alphabet soup there! I’ve asked for the stock ECM from the car as well, so that should be a help, although at first glance it’s likely the wiring had been snipped in it as well. As for the TCM, is it located within the transmission or is it body mounted as well? Is it possible to eliminate the BCM if I’m not using stick power windows, anti theft, etc?
That may certainly be an attractive option! If one aftermarket unit could plug and play to control both engine and transmission it would probably be worth the cost. Thanks for the info!

The TCM is located under the battery in the front right fender, along with the ECU.
I believe you CAN eliminate the BCM - you just need an ECU and the TCM.

Only the 2005 A4 trans have a stand alone TCM model, which was located at the back of the ecm location. 2006 and up A6 trans, have the TCM in the trans instead.
As for OEM C6 ECM, it going to be looking for a lot of inputs from the BCM, and other modules that will report to the BCM, to work correctly, and which you will not be able to program around.
This is the reason that you want to go with after market stand alone ECM that will control the motor, and the trans, and not be looking for/needing the other OEM modules for the ECM to work correctly.
