Jim as I mentioned I have basically the exact same car with the exception of the Z51 handling package which is a bonus. What you have is nothing special as far as highly desirable Corvettes. I understand there are emotions running high for you and your friend and I hope you can help her out, but as mentioned You may want to look at pricing in and around your area. Asking a price that is well above what similar Corvette are selling for in your area will simple make possible buyers not even bother calling. Also when you are able to sell it don't mention the circumstances or some will try and low ball you realizing why it is being sold. Good luck.

Very good ideas! I will not tell about his death. I am in a position that is not my comfort zone. When I ordered my 2013 C6 I tried selling my 2003 C5. I hated people coming to my house. My 1968 Camaro(I am the original and only owner) sits in the 4 car garage with the vette and people wanted to see it rather than the 2003 I was try to sell. I went to my salesman at the dealer I have used for years, he offered me a great price so I traded the 2003 for my new 2013 when it came in. No one in my garage and no worries with the legal paper work.

Members have reported receiving very good offers from Carvana as well and pretty much zero hassle.

OP,

I have the exact same year, color, 3LT, chrome wheels, 44k miles, but I have the F55 option which I didnt see you list (maybe I missed), and I have the transparent and body color roofs. I bought it from a Chevy dealer back in early August for $24k. Same dealer the car was purchased from and serviced at for its entire life.

In terms of selling to Carvana or Vroom. Its easy to get an estimate from those guys online. I recently bought a Tesla Model Y so I needed to get rid of the old Minivan. I went the route of getting a sell quote from Carvana, Vroom, Tesla as a trade in, and Carmax. For Carmax I had to show up in person and do the appraisal thing, but Carmax gave me the best offer by more than $1900 more than Carvana or the others. So weigh all your options. Carmax surprised the hell out of me on their offer so it was worth my effort to to show up in person for that.

I always suggest taking 5 minutes and getting a Carvana offer... at least you have a firm bottom dollar number to work with.

And low mileage Corvette's have a habit of getting some good offers.

I hate selling cars too. I’ll usually just trade them in and take a loss vs having people come to my house. Then I discovered eBay Motors. That was a game changer.

You can sign up for eBay Motors, list a car, and *nobody* will see your personal information. They can only communicate with you through eBay’s messaging system. In the last 18 months I’ve sold a 15 C7 Z51 and a MB E350 AMG Cabriolet, got what I wanted for both of them, and both buyers bought the cars sight unseen. The guy who bought my C7 sent an enclosed trailer to pick it up and the guy who bought the MB flew from Baltimore to Atlanta, met me at the bank to give me a cashiers check, and drove it home. I sold both cars in less than two weeks from the date I listed them. The MB sold for $3k more than Carvana and Carmax said it was worth.

If I were in your position I would wait until Spring then list the car on eBay. Set your opening bid price high enough to keep the lurkers from bidding on it just to see what it sells for, set your reserve at what you want for the car, and set your Buy it Now price just above what you really want for the car so you don’t chase potential bidders away.
