Default HELP and ADVICE Needed

I am helping the wife of a dear friend of mine. He was murdered by his crazy step-son in front of his wife who is the kids mom. There is a lot of legal issues going on. In my 76 years I have never had a friend murdered. I am helping her by keeping his Corvette stored, clean, and running while the legal issues are solved. I will be the one helping get the car sold for her. It is a really nice driving car (I do like my 2013 6-speed manual better), in great shape, with no mechanical issues, perfect clean interior, and no paint issues.
So help me price the car, please!

2007 Corvette Coupe with 33,114 miles on it. Monterey Red Exterior with Cashmere Interior.
Orginal Costs of his car:
Base Coupe $44,995 (21,484 manufactured)
3LT Trim Group $4,945
Transparent Removable Roof Panel $750
6-speed Paddle Auto Trans $1250
Chrome Aluminum Wheels $1850
AM/FM,CD,XM, Bose Radio $1890
Monterey Red Exterior Paint $750 (3,157 painted this color)
TOTAL $56,430

I have the a 2007, 3LT Monterey Red with the Z52 option and 31,000 miles. Mine however is modified with the wide body rear, black chrome Z06 style wheels, American long tubes, hi-flow cats and x-pipe, with SLP Loudmouth II exhaust, K&N air filter, custom tune, billet paddle shifters with the wiring mod, ZR1 style rear spoiler side skirts and front splitter (not on the car at this time). I have been thinking of selling mine but I will wait until after Christmas. I had $22,500 in mind as a asking price.

Unless that has a salvage/rebuilt title, you are asking a very low price in for what you have. Unless you're trying to get rid of it ASAP, $24,000 should be fairly easy to achieve. The OP might be able to get $23,000 for his.

IMO current market price to sell, not just dream, is $25,000.

Grandpa color combo, no Z51, auto trans, LS2.

Those $30k+ magazine values are smoking crack numbers.

Those amounts for a 2007 Base coupe are way inflated. Realistically, you’re looking at low $20’s for a great condition ‘07 with decent interior options.

For reference, ‘10-‘13 Grand Sports are low $30’s, along with ‘06-‘09 Z06s. Base trim level cars won’t be anywhere near $30k.

Very sorry to hear about the situation, GLWS.

Corvette values vary person to person more than any other make I've come across, but KBB is pretty close to true value. About 24K for yours.

I'd list it for $29.5K, and take $27K. I also would not hesitate listing it now, since some do buy Corvette's for Christmas. I did. Good luck, and sorry to hear about your friend.

I based my price on the KBB and in Good Condition. I also looked just now at Very Good condition and it ranges from $21,600 to $24,600 with the mid or average price at $23.200. So my $22,500 is not way low and if you are looking at my mods, I never expect to get my money back. I guess however I can always list at say $24,500 or even $25,000 and then I can drop to my $22,500

I forgot to add, this is assuming the balancer is running true and the tires aren't old; both are a quick $1,000-ish gone if needed. An astute buyer will focus on both. Is the pic with GY Eagles current?

The corvette dna app that some like to reference puts it at ~$21,800. I’ve noticed people like to reference corvette dna when the value is high but then say “oh it’s just an estimate” when the value is low. I just ran my car through (without the Callaway pkg) and the value it generated was pretty spot on with what Carbons are selling for. So take it fwiw.

I think those prices are way over inflated. I would do some searching in your local area and see what they are going for. I looked at some local (Tampa Bay) prices and I did not find any ;07 higher then around $28K and those were roadsters. The 22.5K -24K is about average for clean low mileage '07. At least in my area. Good luck and sorry about your friend. One last point, if your friends wife is in a real hurry to sell it and does not want the hassle of have people calling you or her, there are always place that will buy it at a reduced rate such as CaxMax or WeBuyAnyCar.com. Just for giggles anf grines I did contact the local WeBuyAnyCar in my area and they quoted me $22,500. While I never took it up to them I am sure based on the quote and the wording that said the would pay the amount stated, after they did their inspection. Now knowing that the price they stated was real close to the actual selling price in this area I figured when it was all said and done I would be looking at somewhere in the range of $18K - $19K and maybe not even that.

If she wants to sell for wholesale like these places, she can email me. I'd bomb around in that thing for a year or two and probably break even.

It is the 3LT Trim Group which was the highest trim available in 07 (no 4LT then) , plus the transparent roof panel, Chrome Aluminum Wheels, the radio, and the Monterey Red Paint. So yes it is a base coupe, but a highly optioned out base coupe.
I do not disagree that those July numbers are high, I thought the same thing. If you start high you can always go lower and the buyer feels good. You can never go higher.

The legal issues cloud the time line. She still does not even have the death certificate from Frankfort, KY. She lost her husband and really lost her only child, the son. He will be in jail for life or be in a mental hospital forever. She lost 2 people at one time. We couples traveled together, went out to eat together, attended the same church and Sunday school class, and he and I ushered the same isle at church. He got his Vette after being around me. I was the first one in our class with a vette (C5 2003) and now there are 4 of us, oops 4 cars and 3 guys. I am helping her because it is the right thing to do, even thou it is out of my comfort zone to be selling cars. This is one really fine car, he was very careful with it.

If you start too high, potential buyers will think you're unreasonable and not waste their time even talking to you.

And then after months of jacking around, you can sell for the price range mentioned by most here already. I guess the method of selling depends on the threshold for pain.
