Default I hate vandals.

Just noticed my hood has 14 razor thin scratches on hood and drivers side front quarter panel. 4 scratches are deep.

This is the second time this has happened to me in my life

My first brand new camaro after graduating from college in Jan 1992 got keyed 2 weeks after I got it.

They need to have their hands chopped off. No trial. Just chop off the hand that did the damage.

As they said in the movie "Pulp Fiction":Lance : Still got your Malibu?

Vincent : Aw, man. You know what some f***** did the other day?

Lance : What?

Vincent : F****** keyed it.

Lance : Oh, man, that's f***** up.

Vincent : Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some d******* piece of s*** f***** with it.

Lance : They should be f****** killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.

Vincent : Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that a****** doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.

Lance : What a f*****!

Vincent : What's more chicken**** than f****** with a man's automobile? I mean, don't f*** with another man's vehicle.

Lance : You don't do it.

Vincent : It's just against the rules.

Boy am I pissed.

Manny,

Was this damage to your Vette you just washed & posted a couple of days ago, or one of your other vehicles? Either way, hopefully you get some relief through an insurance claim. Also, I agree that it's a pretty low-life individual that would take this kind of jealous action on someones car.

Sorry to hear and an unfortunate start to the new year.

Just drove it to grocery store. Brought smile to my face but shook my head when I looked at hood. It is not as bad in shade but you can still see the scratches.

Report it to the police. They can request the video of the parking lot, if any, and try to find out who caused the damage. Vandalizing a car is criminal mischief, and is a felony in many states.

It is disgusting what some people will do. Just wish someone could catch that person, open a family size can of whoop-a@@ and 'make an indelible mark' about that person's head and shoulders. Is it possible there was a security camera catching action?

My experience is if you call her after you bang her this doesn't happen.

YMMV

thanks to all.

Scratches are light so I buffed a few out with Meguiar's. If the others do not come out I will file a claim.

It happened Tuesday night/Wednesday morning in our driveway.

We do have cats next door but these are long scratches and only one at a time.

Filed report. Weird thing is nothing came up on our driveway camera. It has been acting weird lately so we are going to replace it.

I will send pics this weekend once I buff them all out.

I have Blink wireless cameras and they are great and affordable.
Ditch the Meguiar's and go Griots. Great products...and my daughter works there!

This doesn't relate directly to your case but it's a good story. My uncle's friend had an older convertible and the stereo was stolen more than once while parked outside. After installing another new stereo, he mounted razor blades to the back of the stereo to cut the next thief as he tried to pull out the stereo from behind. One day, he found a bunch of blood in his car.

You could try water sanding with 2000 grit then buffing out.
