Since Goodyearr thinks I should "Act less white" I will never purchase anything from them ever again.
I am not a fan of Good Year tires, but now knowing this, I will do my best to dissuade any family members and friends I know from buying from them. Les white, how rediculous can some of the people of this great country get?

Yeah this issue has been popping up more often with large companies like Goodyear, Coca Cola, etc. The problem is they often outsource their employee training to companies who have become more... "enlightened" the last few years. They should do a much better job of vetting who they hire to train their employees. That is, if they actually care how crazy these trainings sound which I highly suspect some don't.

I might buy that argument if it was the first instance of behavior from them, but this is at least the second instance of this type of bias in one of their corporate training sessions. The first one was when they allowed blm apparel to be worn at work, but not anything supporting law enforcement.

Setting aside the politics the product is just plain inferior.
Just put the Conti’s on my car. Much quieter and smoother riding than the GY run flats. Seem to be plenty grippy too.
On the other topic, just for the record.

That letter came after they first denied it ever happened. If that would have been their initial response then I would have given them the benefit of the doubt. Couple that with the latest incident and a pattern emerges.

As far as the OE Goodyears that came on my GS I completely agree with you. When I switched over to the Contis there was a definite improvement is ride, noise and handling. I will say that the OE Goodyears on my Colorado have been pretty good, but at 55k are nearing the end of their lifespan. I would have replaced them with another set until GY pulled all of this nonsense.

On another car I had (Goodyear Gatorbacks which were OE) totally DANGEROUS. 360 spinouts and horrible traction when driving on moist road from sprinklers. Switch over to Bridgestones at that time 1988 and that solved that problem.
It's really easy to get tied up on a certain brand.
Yes, Michelins are generally better than many other brands.
I believe that there are 4/5/6 brands that all make top tier tires.
Saying that the low tier Goodyears that came on my new truck were junk is just irrelevant.
I think Goodyear makes some good tires, it's just that they are over priced.
Anyway, the last time I bought tires for my '08, BF Goodrich had a great sale.
Checking on tire rack, they were rated right up there with the Michlins, Perellis, etc.
Also, I noticed that when I bought the tires in 2018? they were optional upgrade on the supercharged Camero's, and were very well talked about on the Camero forums.
They have worked well for me, are a name brand with nationwide service available, were American made, etc.
I personally didn’t care for Continental tires. Read too many stories of them not balancing correctly. It could’ve been my C7 Z wheels, the tires, or both. Bought Forgeline wheels and Hankooks tires. Much happier now.
A few months ago I bought a set of Michelin run flats for my 2007 at discount tire. They're okay, I don't notice a huge improvement over the stock Goodyears that come on the vehicle.
Neither did I. I got the Pilot Sport run flats (EM?). I was very disappointed! They are just as loud as the Goodyears.

No problems here and these tires are over 8 years old now.
Only get them balance when needed.
Overall, when comparing the two tire manufacturers, Goodyear and General Tire, it becomes clear that the latter is the better option due to its broad product selection, outstanding features, and competitive pricing. Despite their small variety, General Tires provide high-quality goods that are very similar to the selection offered by Goodyear.

On the C-6 Goodyear runflats I remember those came with rim protectors built into the tires to help combat curb rash. Continental Tires are also good.
Both Goodyear and Continental typically offer warranties on their tires. The DWS06 is known for its excellent dry and wet traction, responsive handling, and strong braking performance. It also offers good grip on light snow, making it a versatile choice for drivers in regions with changing weather. On the other hand, Goodyear emphasizes the Exhilarate's responsive handling and strong grip, particularly in dry conditions. It's designed to provide confident performance for drivers who enjoy spirited driving.

I am on my second set of Continental Extreme Tires. First set went close to 11 years, or 60,000+ miles.
Another vote for DWS06+ I swear by them, and anyone who buys Michelins because they’re Michelins is wasting money; to the tune of several hundred dollars per car. Countless reviews on TireRack, along with reviews on here, on Rennlist, and on the Club Lexus prove my point. They’ve been on…
