Is the traction also coming on? You need the codes to tell you what is wrong. It could be as simple a bad wheel speed / ABS sensor. Also could be a wire or connector at the wheel hub fir the sensors.
I do not see any codes. The dash read out says 1) low tire pressure left rear. 2) service vehicle soon. 3) service anti lock brakes
Is there a way to get the codes without the scan tool or what ever it’s called? Seems to be all wheels want to lock up, not just one as I thought. Also, no traction control light.
I am asking these questions for a person selling there car, which I am interested in. If there is a potential problem too costly, I want to know.
Hard to tell what the problem could be without reading the DTC's with a scanner. It could be a wiring connection problem, bad speed sensor, ABS module, or another issue.
All the wheels lock up when braking hard because the ABS system is essentially turned off now, so it is like not having it at all.

Any of the "big box" auto parts stores like Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, PEP Boys, etc will read the codes for you at no charge. Definitely get that done before committing to this purchase.
The needed repair could be something simple & relatively inexpensive like a wheel sensor or something REALLY EXPENSIVE to repair!
