OnStar? R U sure? I've noticed numerous times G-Men in unmarked cars following me and parking outside my house ever since I got my C6 with its "black box."

Yes, that's what it is, the OnStar antenna. There was one in all 5 of the C6s I had.
They're probably parking outside your house because of the way you drive.
wondered what that was...... never will use it so I guess the question is can you remove it??

Yup, it slides off to the side and then you can unplug the connector and tuck it under the header trim. I took mine off the first week I owned the car.

Yes. Easy. Just give the box a tap to the left and it will disengage from its bracket.
Because I'm a suspenders and belt guy and don't trust GM or the government, I also pulled the plug on the computer itself, in the back end. OnStar is now deader than JFK AFAIK.

Are you certain the black window mount box has nothing to do with the regular radio AM/FM antenna? So, it "slides off" to the side? More removal description/info please.

Completely. The AM/FM antenna is located behind the rear fascia, my reception was not affected at all by the removal of the box. IIRC it slides off to the left, but I will post a picture of the bracket that stays on the windshield tomorrow morning.
