The original owner lives in MA.....like I said, he was involved with the National Corvette Restoration Society, and became its National President.......in 2005 he wanted a corvette LeMans Blue with red leather interior......he was told he could not order that color combination.........he knew someone up in GM that said..." I'll make it happen and get it for you" ........the car was ordered from a MI dealership because , apparently, he could get an employee discount ( or something to that effect) and he could get the discount thru that dealership.....they must have been giving out pretty good discounts at that tiime............he had a friend that wanted the same color combination so they bought them together ; his friends is a coupe..........the cars were picked up at the Corvette museum........I have the window sticker and the price for that car is 60,600 dollars, which is a pretty good size number in 2005............I also have the build sheet and the code ( 021) for the seats is red.......The original owner swears its the only one like it..........
Using extrapolation........there were 10,644 corvette convertibles built in 2005... .....1041 were blue.........of all the convertibles built, 554 had cobalt red interior.............this means that 5.2% of all convertibles built had cobalt red interiors.............. 1041 x ,052 = 54...................so by using extrapolation, 54 blue convertibles had cobalt red leather interior...............I prefer to believe the original owner than the math.
I guess I'd want to see the sticker in the glove box and check the RPO codes looking for the "703" red interior code. If its not there and it has 193-black, 673-cashmere, or 923-light gray... then there's something funny going on.

So if your eyes tells you the seats are red....and the build sheet has a red interior code....and the window sticker spells out red interior.......that's not good enough for you.......and you conclude something is fishy......note: I looked at the glove box sticker and did not see "703'....as a member of the jury, how do you vote....yea or ney.
Just so I unnerstand...ya got this whoopdeedoo one of one and then ya add all kindsa bling. Certainly ok but I'm thinkin the buyer that's gonna pay extra for one of one wants it original. Just me, tho...
