The slime has been reformulated from the stuff you bought 20 years ago and will not harm the TPMS sensor. Or at least it will not harm the sensor if it's removed within a reasonable amount of time (couple of weeks). Removing the slime is simple as it is easily washed out with a garden hose when the tire is properly repaired.
I think he was more referring to my comment about the old skool "Fix a Flat" product than the Slime Smart kit or others like it. Although your comment may be perfectly valid..I don't know. Could the Fix a Flat that I once pumped my VW Beetle's bald right front tire full of & drove it for another 5,000 miles 30 years ago have likewise evolved?
Michelin Plus 3 run flats on my 2007—dealer put them on 3 weeks ago. Only $15/tire more than the online retailers and didn’t have to deal with shipping, delivery, etc. Took the Chevy dealer about 4 days to get them in stock sizes.

Chevrolet garage put a set on my 2012 back in March . The last 4 sets of tires I have purchased they have been cheaper than the other tire dealers in town . They had them the day after I ordered them . We are in a rural area and I am not depending on a third party to show up on the side of the road . BUT , if you read the paperwork Michelin gives with the tires , they have 36 month roadside assistance included , tire change , fluid delivery , road side assistance . I sent the registration in and put the paperwork in the car and hope I never need it . So far I am happy with the Michelin run flat tires , and have piece of mind .
After a lot of reading from other members and talking with my lock DT manager, I decided to go with non run flats and bought Continental Extreme Contacts and love them. I purchased a small 12volt pump that Michelin makes, a plug kit from NAPA, a small scissors jack, and a side cutter to pull out a nail if necessary. Feel like I'm all set and really like the ride and handling of the Continental's.
I swapped out my run flat factory tires at 15,000 miles and 10 years age. Went with Michelin Pilots.....smoother, quieter....I have an inflater pump and repair kit in the trunk...and also a AAA card!

Yes.... slime, fix a flat, and all the other similar products that I know of are now safe to use with TPMS Sensors, provided it's a temporary solution. The inject and forget it method might causes issues eventually... or not....
I'm a firm believer that a high performance sports car should have a leak properly repaired as soon as its convenient. YMMV
Having issues finding replacement; tires for my 2007 Base Conv., seems no tire manufacture is making run flats in the designated sizes. Any thoughts????
