Default GPS 4 C6?

If the C6 were to come with a GPS mapping system that was connected to a Heads Up Display (HUD), I'd have to morgage the house! ;)

GPS is for getting lost ... in strange neighborhoods without winding up trapped in deadend drives. GPS is for getting off a freeway/Interstate anytime, anywhere, for any reason! GPS is about as necessary as 500 RWHP :D

See what I mean?

No?

GPS is for show. GPS is  . GPS is one hellofva attention getter. A GPS enabled map in the HUD would put the C6 in a class where NO exotic has been. New territory, the C6 would rule.

Now, if you want to be practical, buy a paper map and a Civic :jester

Na, GPS is a toy to distract the driver. It is better used in wilderness outdoors activities. :chevy

Jeeze! Am I alone in the wilderness? Are there any other like minded visionaries out there?

Well, if yester-tech is what you C6 enthusiasts crave, perhaps I should go play with the Beamers :(

I absolutely love the GPS in my caddy. The Voice navigation is a hell of a lot more convenient than a map, and with it I NEVER EVER get lost. I've taken road trip from MA to chicago, DC, Detroit, Canada, and a bunch of other places in the 11 months I've had the car, and I've never needed a map, and never been lost. It almost always picks a faster route than others get by looking at a map. I was told the trip to detroit would take 14 hours, and I did it in 12. And it's not just for road trips. I don't know every little back road in every town in my area. When someone gives me an address that I don't know, I just punch it in, and let the nav system talk me through it. One great example was the time I needed to find the Fed-ex distribution center to pick up a package that they had failed to deliver. It was located in some industrial park in the middle of no-where. I got the address, entered it, and was there in 10 minutes. Like I said, the voice navigation is definitely not a distraction. When you come to an intersection, the screen shows a large simplified icon of the type of intersection you are comming to, and which way you are supposed to go (or if it's just a simple turn, it shows a big arrow). Looking at it is quick and easy. However, if they could incorporate it into the HUD it'd be awesome. That way you'd never ever have to take your eyes off the road. As it is, the voice tells you which turn to take, but it's nice to have visual confirmation. Anyone who tells you that a GPS nav system isn't helpful either A: Has never used one, or B: never travels more than 20 miles away from home, and seldom deviates from his normal commute. Ok, those may be simplifications, but really....if you ever travel in places you don't know very well, a GPS is a godsend. Just think about all the times you've had to write down directions. Now all I say is "just give me the street address and I'll be there." It's that simple and that reliable. I wouldn't own a luxury car without it. And in the next five years I'd say its something that should become ubiquitous not just in luxury cars, but in all mid to high end vehicles. It's just a good thing.

I would love to see GPS in the next Corvette, as an option, since many might not want it.

I hope they keep it independant of the car stereo because I like to install new stereo's in cars. I would love it if all that it did in interacting with the stereo was an audio link ...:smash:

I'm really hoping for this feature. IMO, it's really helpfull (since I'm not blessed with the greatest sense of direction) and it's just plain cool. For some people it's a waste of money, for me it's a major selling point. Sollution= make it an option.
