That is a great link that shows the microswitch that gets weak, or fails, thus not activating the lock out solenoid to disengage the lock out pawl to release the shifter from Park.. Sometimes, as happened to my car, and yours, the shifter will release from Park, but not easily, and will not go to reverse or Park on the way back. This happens because the lock out pawl only partially released. You can follow the link above, and change out the faulty microswitch in front of the shifter shaft, or, you can simply tie back the manual locking pawl, which will never allow the issue of getting out of Park, or not getting it back in reverse or Park.
That is what I did, and I haven't had any issue in years.
