For reasons unknown my Caddy which had a similar system, decided to immobilize the car by way of the theft deterrent system. The dealership dicked with it, reprogrammed both fobs and it was OK until the next morning, when it did it again. When the tow arrived the driver suggested to just see if it would start with the fob, and of course it did, and every other time thereafter. This technology seems prone to one time gremlins. And also marginal batteries. I'd get your battery checked out in any case. There are some stretches in the desert on Rt 66 where you'd rather not be stranded.
