Default Throttle Controllers Feedback

With the various options out there I was in hopes some owners could give their feedback of pros and cons after using them. What brand do you have installed? What do you like? What do you dislike? Do you wish you would have bought a different one?

Reasoning for this thread: Needed to get out of a situation that was happening on the highway(traffic/accident happening). Floored it to get around someone to quickly switch lanes, hit the gas, and the delay was very apparent and quite annoying My C5z does not do this. So I'm looking to remedy this issue.

Info on C6: Daily Driver, base, non Z51, no plans for performance modifications(i.e. headers, cam, tune etc.)

I’ve installed the Pedal Commander & there is quite a noticeable difference in throttle response.
If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t hesitate to get one installed.
The only drawback I’ve experienced was CEL due to throttle positioning sensor, which was easily fixed by recalibration.
Other than that it’s came in handy a handful of times!

I have had a Vitesse on my car for maybe 5 years now. I wanted to get rid of the lazy throttle so it acted more like a cable driven throttle. I settled on SP4 for me. I am very happy with it and have had zero issues. All of the throttle enhancers work by intercepting the throttle signal, modifying it, and sending it on.

As an additional thought, how long has it been since your throttle body has been cleaned? A dirty throttle blade and body modifies airflow and can cause throttle tip in hestiation.

Was the delay in the actual throttle or was it in the transmission downshifting slowly?

I would get a dyno and transmission tune long before I installed a throttle controller. And throttle controllers do not get ride of lag or increase throttle response. All they do is remap the throttle curve. Waste of money.

I installed a Soler Throttle Controller a few months ago. The difference is night and day! Right around $100. Easy to install and makes a world of difference.

I also recommend the Soler Performance controller. I think I’ll be going with their throttle body soon.

I have the older Vitesse installed for 4 years, set on 6 and it works flawlessly. Has not set any CELs since I've had it installed. I have the controller under the center console tombstone, easy to access if needed. Since I don't recall how sluggish the throttle used to be, I unplugged it, back to original OEM and I couldn't believe the difference. I would never go back to that.
With the Vitesse, you push the pedal, and it's pretty instant...minimal lag at 6. I've not tried any higher number, but I can just imagine that it would be instant.
The older Vitesse looks like the Soler controller, with the 3 buttons.
I totally disagree with one member that stated a throttle controller does not prevent lag. Apparently has not tried one that was installed properly and worked, or has not tried one at all.

Pedal Commander in my 2012 GS. Really gets rid of the pedal lag. Love having all the different setting to choose from. Use the phone app. Money well spent. No, racing, just 50,000 + miles traveling the USA the past 4 years.

Also put it on my wife 2019 Honda CR-V. She even likes it. Great when you need to get going crossing hwy with traffic coming.

Throttle and I'm not spending $600 on a dyno tune when the solution is only a fraction of the cost. There is absolutely zero point in having my Vette tuned when it has no mods nor do I plan on adding headers, cam, blah blah like my original post said. There are plenty of people that would disagree with your statement about controllers not getting rid of any lag. But if you really want to paypal me $600 for a tune I'd be more than happy to oblige.

I have a Vitesse on my car, if I were doing it today it would be a Solar, for the simple reason its cheaper as they all do basically the same thing.

The throttle controller will not solve a delayed throttle response, it just reprograms the throttle curve. If you have a delayed throttle response you have other issues.

Easy, spd...the guy can disagree, and give weak advice. Almost anything you post, someone is probably going to say how wrong you are. Heck, everyone else agrees with your solution. Your post even has me thinking about it.

Soler here and actually surprised about the increase in off idle throttle increase. Makes the car feel a lot more like a sports car should. Mine is supercharged and loving the new pedal liveliness. The price, the company’s service, ease of install, easy to use, performance and frankly the small size and attractive looking piece are all reasons to choose Soler. IMO

Appreciate the feedback guys. I went ahead and ordered the Solar performance one. Once I play around with it I will post some feedback in this thread. Relatively speaking when it comes to Corvettes $100 doesn't seem like much.

I got this and could not be happier, I think Soler is the smallest and at under $100 so worth it. The only issue I had was the OEM gas pedal connector wasn't under the gas pedal. (2013 GS) it was under the dash bottom panel which actually made it easier to install.

I installed the tiny control panel in the exact same place.

I ran the Vitesse for about 3 years and then it started to cause issues with my car. So I swapped it out for a pedal commander. Between the two, the look form and function of the Pedal Commander is A LOT better. I like the blue tooth option of the PC and that It allows me to set the mode I want and then allows small adjustments on the mounted device to that mode.

The only draw back for some (NOT ME) is that you have to have the app open on your phone to change the mode... so if your in Sport and want to go to Economy while driving, you need to have the app open to change it. You do NOT need to leave the app open. It will keep the mode set to what ever you chose until you change it in the app.

For me that's not an issue because I like the fact that I cant just go pressing buttons. If I set it to economy, it keeps me honest. Although, its not that difficult to open the app and change the mode while driving.

If I had to chose one for my car today, I would chose the pedal commander.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

I finally was able to get around to installing and going on a few runs. I'll be brief

Economy Mode-Unresponsive below stock levels and pretty much does what it's intended.
Stock Mode and Comfort Mode-felt the same to me
Sport Mode-I can tell it's more responsive than stock. I'm very happy with the sport 9 setting and it's where I will leave it as it feels just right.
Ludicrous mod- Extremely responsive and peppy. Ludicrous 9 setting I was all giggles and smiles while my wife held on to the oh **** handle.

After everything is said and done for what it is I don't regret the purchase, but I wouldn't spend over $100 for a similar unit.
