Did the sand/polish system on my Ford F-150 and it came out fantastic. Thinking about my C6 too. You can buy new lenses (not terribly expensive) but it appears to be a PIA to do the project. Think I'll try sand/polish first and see what happens.
OR... Get yourself a C5 and be done with it!...but then the headlights will be so bad you can't drive it at night... Ask me how I know. Thanx GM. 😠
haha I loved my C5Z. I actually tried to buy a D1SC C5Z car right before this GS but it sold too quick! The pop ups are just amazing.

Nice and im hoping it turns out good. If it doesn't turn out well, I might super lightly tint them to see how that goes!
The wet sanding will work but definitely need to spray a clear coating on to preserve. They will not last as long as original but will look really good relatively. Once cured (in about 7 days pending weather conditions) add to items that get waxed. There are a bunch of tube videos with the process.
When I bought my 2007 (April 2021) the head light lenses were "foggy" and decided to change them myself. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Once I had the buckets out, I could not "break loose" the lens from the housing. Read up on the resolution, and ended up putting them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes to "melt" the glue used from the factory. One side came apart like butter, and of course the other side wouldn't budge. Tried everything, but finally had to "cut" the lens out with a dremel tool and a side cutter wheel, and gradually "clean out" the glue that was in the channel around the entire bucket. What a PITA! Took me a couple of hours with little plastic like pieces all over my workshop. FINALLY got it cleaned out, and replaced the lenses. Was it worth the time and the effort? Well, all in all I would say yes as far as saving a bunch of money. It did try my patience, but just stuck with it and got the job done. Would I do it again? Well....... yes, no, maybe so.
