Default Installed TSP Stage 1 Cam

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share my most up to date corvette build. Just installed a mild cam, had it tuned, dyno’d and all the fun stuff. Went with the stage 1 because it’s my daily and I did not want to change the converter.

This cam drives like stock. Does not push through the brakes at stop lights. Cruising and idle manners are like stock. Absolutely loving the power and sound.

Videos & Modifications below!

Performance Modifications:

TSP 1-7/8” LTH
TSP 3” Off-Road X-pipe (catless)
TSP Stage 1 225/236, .629/.615, 114 LSA Camshaft
Corsa Xtreme Axle Back 4.5 inch tip
Vararam Snake Charmer CAI
Stock Converter
All supporting mods (Valve Springs, Pushrods, Gaskets, Spark plug wires, O2 Sensors, etc)

Dyno Results:
470 WHP
465 Torque

Sounds great. Any idea how this cam would do if you threw an A&A kit on top?

Sounds nice and great numbers. Headers and cam is on my Winter to do list also. Hopefully happening next weekend, if the weather cooperates with no snow.

Wow that sounds great! Where did you get the cam and did you do the install? I’m really thinking about this cam. It’s either this one or the btr stage 1 or 2. Read people out there with the btr stage 2 and didn’t have to change converter. But who knows.

That sounds great! I love your setup. I went with a Stage II on my M6 GS for the same reason you did - to keep my driving manners. This way we get all the sound and none of the aggravation

I have the BTR stage 2 and didn't change the converter.A good tuner is a must with these cams and the stock converter.

That’s great to know. I guess everything is in the tuning. 👍🏻

Keep in mind “Stage” means nothing. One companies stage 1 could be another companies stage 2 or 3.

TSP Stage 1 is the most cam you should put in an auto car without a converter. Yes, tuning can alleviate a lot of the issues, do your research and talk to the folks over at TSP & BTR so they can help you reach your desired goal.

My buddy put a Stage 3 TSP cam in his car and absolutely hates it, he went from having a great time driving his car to dreading it every day (M6 car). Your only leaving a little WHP on the table between the stages, but driveability and manners change drastically.

Forget the "stages". They mean nothing. Some stage ones are bigger than some stage two's and vice versa. Look at the overall specs of the cam. How much overlap, etc. If you don't know what you're doing, get some help. A dumb mistake is also an expensive mistake.

Got it. So the tsp stage 1 sounds exactly what I’m looking for. Drive ability but I also want to know I have a cam. Don’t want to change up the converter. Had a car with a big converter and did not enjoy it at all.

Decide before you buy a cam if you want to give up good street manners for performance & choose wisely

Agreed with the comments about the stage meaning nothing when you cross brands. OP's TSP Stage I sounds identical to my BTR Stage II. It's all in the brand and the tuning. Gotta love the thump, thump, thump.

The guys over at TSP said it would work great. If you could start from scratch they’d recommend a milder cam. But since I enjoy how the car drives, A/A blower would go right on with no issues.
