How big is the tear? Post a picture of the seat so we can get a better idea of what to recommend. If you Google "leather car seat repair kit" there's several DIY kits that you could possible do yourself.

took about 15 - 20 minutes to swap out. the only issue was, was mine as the heated seats, the replacement wasn't set up for that. just a small cut was needed to allow the heater cable to pass through.
if it's the seat pad section, i've got to believe it would be just as much work time wise.
