what exactly are you fellas talking about and where do you get it done.
is the head unit the display in the center of the dash? where do you get it done?
2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (performance mods)
C4 of Year Winner (performance mods) 2019
Yes, the "head unit" is the center display with all the audio functions (and NAV if you have it). The term "head unit" is used as it doesn't actually power the speakers but instead sends a signal to an amplifier (if you have the Bose system) which actually powers the speakers. Any competent car stereo shop can replace it for you (and will most likely overcharge you ), or you can do it yourself if you are even slightly mechanically inclined (do you know how to use a screwdriver and ratchet/socket ). Crutchfield has a guide to select what will fit and will sell you all the wiring harnesses and adaptors you will need, and there are plenty of install guides on YouTube. Even taking your time, it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do.

Which mufflers did you use. Looks great
Thank you! Mufflers are bone stock NPP GS mufflers. I just had them jet hot coated so they’d match the Kooks headers and x-pipe. Then I didn’t like how they looked so took them to a place that said they could make the tips shiney again (I screwed up and let jet hot coat the tips so they didn’t turn out as shiney as I wanted/like them) so they ended up powder coating them the shiney chrome color.
If I had it to do over or if I ever get new mufflers, I’ll go with a 3” NPP Z06 or ZR1 stock set and jet hot them but leave the tips as-is. Sometimes I’m too picky…..

Super nice GS. Inside and out. If your ever come to Northern Alabama I'd be very interested in checking it out.
Thank you! Will do if I’m in Bama and can make it work out. I’d like to see your Vette too. I’m in Memphis so if you ever over this way, lemme know and we can meet up and talk cars.
I've done a lot of mods both performance and cosmetic. Hard to pick the "best" mod since they all impart something unique to my GS and one has to consider value in the equation.
Best overall (but expensive) mod is the Katech Stage II+ package w/ full LS7 manifolds-to-mufflers exhaust conversion.
Best interior: Toss up between Sony head unit + speaker upgrade, custom steering wheel or custom leather door panels.
Best exterior: I'm partial to the original Torque 2 / "Carlisle" wheels I happened upon a little while ago.
Best bang for the buck: Probably the Koni FSD shocks - biggest improvement in ride and handling balance over stock.

#1: Maggie supercharger and I'll include the Kooks long tubes, green cats and x-pipe with it
#2: Carrivagio D-wheel, including the F-1 mod and new paddle shifters
#3: I'll combine this one too - Kenwood head unit, speakers, sound deadening, Vettenuts premium insulation
Seen this steering wheel and was like "oooo i like that" then looked up the price....yikes!

Yep, unfortunately it was pretty steep. The wait was easily twice as long as estimated. But the finished product is excellent….love that steering wheel.
What are you guys /gals saying in the single best mod you’ve done. That is out of what you’ve done which one is the best?
also gonna say. I HATED the oem throttle response. I put on a throttle controller and MY GAWD. Best $150 I have EVER spent on a car. Car actually moves when I slam the throttle.
