There is a fairly loud brake squeal that occurs under normal braking pressure, typically around 30mph and below. Squeal seems to come from only the left side – hard to tell if it is coming from the front or back. It does not seem to begin until the brakes have been used a few times and does not seem to be present at higher speeds than 30mph. Adding additional braking pressure while stopping typically will make it cease. I do not recall this being an issue last year before I put the car into storage but it has been doing it consistently in the last month since I took it out of storage. I have the J55 brakes (part of the 2010 magnetic shock package) and I know these pads can be prone to squealing in general. The pads/rotors have about 5k miles on them and were changed 6/2020. I bedded the pads/rotors when they were changed two years ago with several hard stops and don't recall any issues with the brakes until now. Somewhat hesitant to try the bedding procedure again as I have concern it may cause more harm than good if that is not the actual problem.
If you are using a metallic pad you will probably get some squeal. I personally would inspect each pad and caliper function. You could have a Slider Pin that is stuck or a piston in the caliper not working properly. You should use a good brake assembly lube on all moving parts to help reduce brakes squealing. While not for everyone's driving style ceramic pads don't squeal and have very little dust. Lots of folks on the forum use Duralast Gold, myself included.
My original pads squealed a bit. Went to the drag strip and a few hard stops from 120 cleaned the glaze from the rotors and pad for about a month, then it returned. I put on some Hawk HPS pads and no squeak, very little dust, very quiet, easy on the rotors, and still a great bite. 👍👍
