I said I was done posting here......but I guess not. Too much to say. But.....its a hopeless subject, people today are locked in to their beliefs, no matter what. Me included.
- Its very ironic that people are stating that it is "illegal" to sit in the left lane,......as an arguement against "speeding". Very funny. Do people even realize the hypocrisy in that?
The real hypocrisy comes from you claiming that you're being all righteous by doing the speed limit while passing long lines of trucks and holding up traffic behind you. I've got news for you, if you have 5 or more cars behind you and you're doing this, you can get a ticket for impeding traffic in many states. So in other words, your righteous actions are just as illegal as someone speeding.
I’ve been driving for over 40 years. I’ve been on an interstate 3 times this year so far but used to travel from the Charlotte, NC area to SE Ohio several times a year during the 90s. My somewhat limited experience is that a lot of drivers don’t understand the whole left lane pass concept anymore. I don’t know if they just don’t know or don’t care. I generally drive 70 on the interstate. If I’m in the left lane passing, I’ll step that up to maybe 80 to get around and vacate the lane.
Old man pet peaves:
-left lane bandits
-left lane bandits hanging out in blind spots
-distracted drives (been hit 3 time by them).
-ultra aggressive lane switching that risks others
-brake checkers
If folks want to speed, I don’t care as long as they’re not endangering others. The job of regulating speeders belongs to someone else. A little courtesy and a lot of paying attention is good for all of us.

So your logic is that when I am passing cars and trucks that are running 5-10 below posted speed limit and I am doing speed limit or plus 5-10 speed limit, it is ME who is getting a ticket, AND you doing speed limit plus 20 is not only legal, but also responsible and safe?….okay if that is your position then I have nothing else to say to you.
It’s clear that Your position is you will do whatever you want to do because that’s what you want to do…….illegal or not, safe or not, responsible or not. And for the many that think like that way on the highways and roads of this country, you can be responsible for horrific accidents that not only kill yourself but all the innocent people you kill…..simply because you have a car that goes fast, and you choose to drive it fast. Somehow in a civilized society, you think that is fair, reasonable and responsible. I do not.

You obviously have a problem understanding what I'm trying to say. I very clearly stated that what you're doing is just as illegal as someone speeding.

and if I was the king, I would lock-out ALL that stuff when the car is in motion....PERIOD. You want to chat / text / punch on a computer....get the hell off the road. When you are ready to pay attention...you can drive. Many lives would be saved.
What about emergencies? What if someone was stalking you/chasing you and you needed to call 911?
