Putting the car in the garage and the ABS light and Traction Control light came on. Messages read: Service ABS system / Service Traction Control system / Service Active Handling System. Any clue? How many "starts" before a code will clear if there is a non-rercurring problem?
The OBD drive cycle is generally for emission related issues so as to make sure the car is working properly in regards to emissions.
I don't think there is a drive cycle for ABS/traction control. As soon as the issue is fixed, the light should go off.
I may be wrong on ABS, but as far as the SRS/Airbag codes, the light went off as soon as I fixed a plug problem.
These are 3 separate computer systems in the car.
From the internet:
Normal ABS and OBD Computer Interaction
In a standard automobile, the engine control and ABS systems are completely separate entities; neither one knows or cares that the other one even exists. The traditional approach has been to use one computer to control the engine -- and sometimes transmission -- and another to control the ABS system. The only time these computers even come into contact is in the circuit board that supplies power to both or behind the dash where the readouts are. So, no -- in most cars, the ABS system cannot and will not affect the engine's programming map or on-board diagnostic drive cycle
Have your battery load tested. When the batteries start reaching the end of their life it can cause the sensor warnings to flash on the DIC even when there's nothing wrong.
The battery is only about 9 months old. I suspect that it is a wheel speed sensor - either a bad sensor or harness or just a poor connection. I have an appointment on 7/21 with the Vette Shop I use to sort it out.

Thanks all for the input.

9 months old doesn't mean it isn't bad. It's free to have a battery load tested so it's worth it to eliminate that as a possible issue.
Battery check would be my first thought as stated before. In Arizona, the heat kills batteries.....normal "average" life span of a battery in 18 to 24 months. Had the battery in my 07 now for 15 months......will have it checked in about another 2 months after the intense heat begins to wane.
Check battery even if relatively new....but battery life can vary quite a bit.
I live south of Houston...about as hot a summer as you can get.
My 07 bought new. I have bought exactly 2 batteries in 15+ years and 97,000 miles:
Factory battery lasted 66 months and 56K miles
1st Advance Auto battery lasted 62 months and 21K miles
Current Advance battery is at 57 months and 21K miles
With this data, just hoping I can make it thru the end of the year.

I had the same error messages. My issue was a bad wheel speed sensor on my right rear.

Bad, fouled plugs can cause issues as well. If you have a newer battery, but are uncertain if it's been quite some time since plugs have been looked at, it's not a bad idea to take a look at 'em.
