I had an issue last Saturday (7/9/22) where my cruise control suddenly would not engage and a solid check engine indicator came on. I drove it to the dealer for a code check and also noticed that the shifting was strange while accelerating from a stop. The shifting seemed to make the car jump a bit. I left the car with the dealer since the quick code check indicated some sort of electronic control issue. They told me today that the transmission control module is bad and that the OEM part # 24226863 is no longer available. They are ordering an after market part.

Has anyone had this part fail or symptoms like mine? Should I be worried about future parts availability?

Side note: I have mechanical breakdown coverage which is covering the repair minus the deductible and the coverage is good for a couple more years but might be a moot point if parts become unavailable. I bought this coverage when I bought my vette in Feb 2020. The vette had only 41K miles on it at that time but it was 15 years old. I was surprisingly able to get the highest coverage (Platinum) for a 4 year / 60,000 mile term. Current mileage is about 48K. Last summer I had repairs done that were covered and the covered amount exceeded what I paid for the coverage so it was a good investment. It is good coverage through my credit union that I had on my other cars too and had good luck as well.
