I have a minor issue on my 2006 convertible that that is annoying and recurring. It is not a big deal but bugs me, nevertheless. The black piece of molding next to the driver's door catches and comes loose when I get in the car. I am not sure if it is supposed to be "popped in" differently. I do not think it has any broken or missing tabs. If anyone else has experienced this issue and resolved it, any advice would be appreciated.

That part is supposed to snap in place, and doesn't usually move at all. I'd check the back side of it to see if the tab there has been broken. If it has, and the other side of it is still snapped in place you can use some Gorilla Glue or something similar to glue it back.
If that panel was removed in the past, chances are one of the tabs was broken. When I removed that panel to do soundproofing, it was difficult to release those tabs, and one did break away from the panel. As mentioned, I glued it back in place and worked OK. If that is the issue, hopefully the tab is still there to be fixed.
