Default alternator model

Hello,
I was thinking about installing a c6 alternator, the one that has adjustable setpoint through the L terminal but found confusing information. On the forum I’ve found a thread where they say up to 2006 the alternators had old style regulator then the car was upgraded to 2 wire with an adjustable setpoint through the L terminal. However, I did some searching to buy one and some of what I’ve found are advertised as compatible with 2004 through 2013. That’s probably not true I understand.
One of them I think may be adjustable setpoint through PWM says it’s equivalent to OEM no 25888970. but they say it fits 6.0 2004+ and 6.2 03.2006. the connector looks wider so it may not be what I want
Any idea what oem number it needs to be a 2 pin model?
Thank you

I got the answer from
the manufacturer the info about 25888970
No , set point 14.6 V
SPECS:12 Volt, B-Circuit, S-F-L Terminals, 14.6 Vset~SPECS FOR:Valeo IR/IF Alternators~MFR:VALEO~NOTE 1:Active lamp function - with output.~NOTE 2:With FR Resistor.~NOTE 3:With External Sense.

So if the connector is not a small two pin then it’s the old style regulator even if it says 2003 through 2013.

I think I’m going to choose the c7 alternator which is even better for installing it on my c4.

My car is a c4 and there have been other problems I had to deal with, I’ll probably keep the stock alternator. At some point I was planning to fit a BMW g30 alternator that is more efficient and works with LIN commands but I couldn’t figure out how to communicate with it. It requires information from the manufacturer that is not available. Then the alternator was like 3kg heavier and could put more stress on the brackets and mounting points.
