Wired Overheat Issue

Yes, the thermostat was replaced last year, and when they pulled the codes yesterday they also checked the operation of the engine, and it was most definitely not overheating at 201 degrees. My bet is the sensor. The shop agreed with me.

I agree to definitely change the temp sensor first to see if that corrects the problem.

I replaced the temp sensor this past Saturday, and so far everything is working as it should. Only $20 and 10 minutes of my time to fix. Funny thing is the service manual says you have to pull the alternator to get to the sensor, but simply disconnecting the plug wire #1 from the ignition coil gives more than enough room to get a 3/4" deep well socket on the sensor and remove it easily.

Or the sensor wire somehow got disconnected. I had this problem after I installed headers. During installing the driver side header I knocked the wire off the sensor.

Mine was definitely connected. The sensor was the fail point.
