Default LED controller always on?

Hi everyone!

I just bought an ‘08 corvette base and am relatively new to modding. It has had some aftermarket tech installed like a new head unit, speakers, etc. One of the mods are LEDs in the wheels outside the car. They are controlled by this controller (shown in photos) below the steering wheel inside the cab. However, the controller seems to be on and flicker whenever the head unit is off (both with car on and off). So when the head unit is on, the controller is off and all is well. However, when I turn the car off at home, the lights on the controller cycle endlessly. I can’t find any switches to turn off the controller. Will these lights drain my battery while the car is off? If so, what kind of timescales would I need to be worried about leaving the car? Thanks and great to be on the forum!

The head unit may well be the origin of how the LED controller works. The power may well come from the head unit power. What is the brand and model number of the head unit. That is where I would start the search to see if there is a user manual available, and if the controller in question is part of the head unit assembly.
Good Luck
