Default Hit and run!

Walked out from dinner Friday night to find this. Thank God for video surveillance! Was able to track him down this morning and get the insurance info I needed to file the claim. Some people suck!

That really sucks. One positive result of security cameras all around is the ability to sometimes track down people like this. We all make mistakes, but to hit and run is cowardly and low life behavior. I’m glad you got the insurance information. I would have reported it to the police. Their next victim might not have security cameras to help out. Best of luck for a speedy and flawless repair.

You say you were able to track him down, did you actually speak to the person? If so, what did they have to say for themselves?

No integrity or taking responsibility any more for a persons actions. Did my heart good that you could look at video surveillance and catch this coward. Cars can always be repaired at a good body and paint shop. Good luck my friend!

I had planned on it but was able to get his insurance info without talking to him. Filed directly with them. They called him and ended up doing the right thing.

I assume they know or how else would the op get the insurance info. I am sure he got the plate from surveillance and the police ran the plate and gave him the info on the car.

Went through this last Feb at shopping mall parking lot. Mall security requires police report for police to view footage. Took a couple days but got name and contact info. They made good without insurance. Cops and mall security were hard on stance of not seeing the video myself.

Dealing with insurance now myself. Good luck most of them suck, yours and his. Can't believe they accepted responsibility so quickly. Stay on your toes and be ready for shenanigans, good luck.

You should file a police report about his hit and run. Trash like that deserves to be in jail.

I would want to talk to the person as well. But they probably would say something that would just **** me off more........Like " I'm sorry, I didn't even know I hit anything in my huge tank of a SUV."

People truely do suck, I'm so glad insurance is stepping up for you.

Usually people know and just say "that's what they had insurance for, I'm in a rush".

Good outcome. I suggest you check that $1500 headlight very closely for any damage before closing the claim..

I've had this happen to my Vette 5 times. At least you were able to get video. I never was able to and ended up having to pay out of my own pocket.
