I would check to see if a paid subscription is required for the Ring camera. I'm personally using the Escort M2 dash cam that mounts along side my Escort radar detector and the power connection powers both the camera and my radar detector. https://www.escortradar.com/collections/dash-cams
I may bite on the RedLine Bundle in Spring, she is asleep for winter now, I like that setup very clean
Ring no longer sells their DashCam, so I’m moving on to other options. I’ve decided that providing power from the vehicle when the vehicle is “off” brings a number of complications to the solution, whether it’s power via the OBD port or off the mirror power, so I’m just going to power the DashCam off the console lighter 12v port. I still want the camera “on” in a Parking Mode when the vehicle is off so I’m going to run power from the console 12v power cigarette lighter connection between the seats to a “Power Brick” I’ll buy and put under or behind the drivers seat. Then from the Power Brick I’ll run the 5v mini-USB cable to the dashcam. Dashcams in Parking Mode use very little power, so a good sized Power Brick should be good for 12 to 24 hours or more of Parking Mode. When the ‘Vette is running it will recharge the Power Brick, so I should be good to go.
I want 4K resolution for the DashCam, and a dual camera set up with a 1080p rear facing camera would be ideal. Since it’s now January and I’m not driving the ‘Vette much, if at all, I have some time to research options before I buy and install.
Thanks to all the Forum members for your input. I truly appreciate it. tom4x2.

I’ve had dashcams in all my vehicles for over a decade. 4K resolution is essential so you have clear images. 4K allows you to read license plates, street names, etc., even from a considerable distance. These mount easily, and the power cord is long enough to hide down the windshield pillar, under the dash and hide along the center tunnel to use the power outlet in the center console of my C7 Grand Sport. I don’t use the rear camera, just the front facing camera and the “interior” camera which is built into the dashcam. These dashcams have built in WiFi, so you can download clips to your phone or tablet wirelessly. I give them 5 stars.
The power brick option to power a camera when the vehicle is off is not feasible. The camera consumes too much power, and a power brick could easily overheat and cause a fire hazard. Obviously that option was taken off the table.
