Additional info: car is a automatic - the SLP package was done by a licensed contractor for the dealership as a new car - fuel pump is original and stock (supercharger manufacture says stock fuel pump is acceptable) - dealership has figured 14 hours to replace the fuel pump and fuse block -
No info on the dealer response for warrantying the repair since you just bought it?
I mean, yea I do. Lol. I thought this package he had was a little more legit than just a shop throwing a blower on it. I thought it was a partner or something like Shelby/Roush for Ford.
The supercharger has nothing to do with dropping the tank though. I’d bet the fuel pumps are stock.

Fact is it's a 12-year old car and SLP is not Callaway or Lingenfelter, so I wouldn't expect much from their "pkg". Unless the OP purchased a legit extended service contract that is going to cover this aftermarket pkg, he's on his own for repairs. Should've done more research before purchasing this vehicle unfortunately.

I’m the 4th owner - I did researched it prior to the purchase - the SLP package had nothing to do with the fuel pump failure. BTW found a video on YouTube from C& S Corvette in Florida- they have had several C6 come in with fuel pump relay and fuse block failures.

I would bet it did have something to do with the failure. I own a Callaway supercharged Corvette and part of the pkg is an upgraded fuel pump, injectors etc. I'm pretty sure the Lingenfelter pkgs include an upgraded fuel pump as well. There's a reason for that.
SLP is typically a fairly well respected brand... But I bet they did a boost a pump vs an actual high flow. That said, o figure it's just bad luck.
agreed, but BAP’s are not bad by any means. Some cars run them from the oem. It does not overdrive them, it just runs them in their efficiency range.
If memory serves me, Walbro suggests running their pumps in the 14v range and pretty much everyone runs walbro.
Wow, just dayum.
Granted dropping rear end, tanks etc. involves beaucoup labor.
Yet for $3.3 large dealer had better damned well be replacing BOTH pumps.
They do one only almost guarantee other will go sooner rather than later.
Be looking at another $3.3K. SMH

14v is what a car running at normal rpms produces. The BaP increases the input voltage to the pump to increase flow. It's important to remember what a pump is, if you need more fuel pumped you either increas it's "scoop" size, or you make it scoop and dump faster. Since we aren't changing the pump itself, the scoop size is uncha ged, and boosting the voltage spins the motor doing the scooping faster. That's not inherently bad, but it will accelerate wear because the pump only has so many scoops before it wears out. Luckily, it's a LOT of scoops, but a BaP fuel pump will not last as long as a non boosted pump of the same.time in terms of runtime. Some cheap pumps also may not have the sturdiness to be run faster, but I suspect that's rare.
Either way, in doubt the boost a pump fried his pump. And frankly I'd have a hard time believing a dealer that wanted dtoncharge me 3300$ for a 10.5 hour job. At that sort of rate it'd be cheaper to have an attorney do the job...
