Dash bubbles is the only name I can come up with for the problem I am having with my C6 ZR1. Took my car out of its unheated shipping container yesterday where it has mostly sat since last fall. When I got behind the wheel I noticed that the dash covering had several large bubbles or separations in the dash covering. We have had a very cold winter so I wonder if this could be the cause? I had the car detailed in February and the interior leather was treated with a dressing that gave it a very nice black sheen. I wonder if the dressing could be the culprit? Has anyone on this forum experienced this problem?

It's a combination of things. Glue application was not up to what a hand upholstered dash would have. Dressings will have surfactants in them that work through the pores of the leather and get under the glue and leather and clean them apart. Major temperature swings don't help matters either.
It's a problem not unique to corvettes either. Pretty much every high end car with a leather dash has it happen with some frequency. Those owners tend to complain less because the cost to fix is more agreeable to people used to overpaying. It was so bad on jeeps that there was a class action lawsuit and I think jeep will replace all those dashboards.
Already reports of it happening on the c8. So glad I avoided leather dashes. I bought a 3lt and have bought upgraded pieces including door panels. Unfortunately this is a problem many encounter. No excuse for it then and no excuse for it now. The adhesive technology is there. Anything for auto manufacturers to save a buck
