Do the C7 style headlights decrease the value of the C6
I have a C6 z06. I kind of like the old style lights but they are outrageous. THe bucket part of my light is kind of busted up. I wanted to replace it. Was thinking about getting used, but you can get a brand new PAIR for slightly more at Vette lights. Do these devalue the car? I pretty much just track the car. Would more than 50% of vette C6 people like the lights on resale if I ever resell? I was looking at the Eagle eye headlights.
I am of the opinion that any "modification" devalues the car, even if its tasteful. I'd be inclined to get the lights you want, and then save the originals incase you decide to sell later.

Not really devalue the car imo, but you limit your audience and should definitely not expect any value for them on a sell or trade in any more than oem lights. Same with any mods for that matter
The fact that yours is a track car with (or without) improved brakes, suspension parts, cooling, seating & belts, etc. will probably make more difference to prospective buyers than whatever headlights it has. So just get which ones you like best.
You track the car and you're worried about headlights devaluing the car? lol. I'd say knock yourself out and get the headlights. You have already devalued the car with all the mods and your tracking it. I'm not knocking you or the car but high mods do the devaluing on the Vette for sure. I wouldn't worry about headlights.
It's a GM thing... Junk lights to begin with.... Just do your best to fix them so you can be safe... Here at CF we, the participates care for your safety in driving... It's is most important to see 🤨... Lord knows Corvette headlights are a challenge...you'd think GM should care, but they don't... Care? Dose the word "GM wheels" ring a bell?
I am very happy that I got the Morimoto C-7 Style headlights. If you want true safety, the OEM headlights are pure junk in comparison. You will be amazed at how much more you can see with the Morimoto's.....MUCH safer!

I upgraded the stock bulbs for better lighting. I like the look of the oem and do not like any of the alternatives that would make my car resemble a C7 or C8. Get what you like and be happy.
I do not like the look of the vast majority of modern headlight designs including C7 headlights. Why does every headlight have to include eyebrows or eyelashes or whatever the array of linear lights are in modern headlights?
The look of the stock C6 lights are great. Light output is not.
I installed Sharp Light Innovations HID/LED Low/High Headlight upgrade for C6 Corvette and also their LED fog light upgrade. Much better light output and keeps the look of the stock headlights. I also added a mod to turn on the fog lights when my high beams activate. No problem with dim headlights anymore.
Guess I never cared about resale. 2 things that had to go were the radio and headlights. Factory headlights give the car a dated look that I didn't care for. I liked the carbide lights a little more, but opted for the better warranty of the morimotos.
I don't see how the OEM lights give the car a dated look. People with this opinion, why?
For me I don't care for the look of the turn signal lense. The amber DRL isn't my flavor. Even with swapping that out for a switchback led, the white doesn't look much better in my eyes.

The body-colored buckets and Amber egg yolk drl scream early 2000s. Much like the OEM navigation unit, the headlights were dated before the C6 launched. They improved it at the end of the model run with the option for black buckets, but even those look dated.

Agreed! I put in LEDs and I have zero nightime visibility issues. I prefer the factory headlights on the C6...not a fan of the C7/C8 style headlights on a C6. Plenty bright for me.

That looks great. I'm a bigger fan of the stock design BUT mine were absolutely trashed, and my car is black so the morimotos look great on mine.
I picked up the Spyder Apex headlights for around $900 vs $1500 for the Morimotos, but are very similar. I have to say, I'm really impressed. When swapping them out, the light beams matched up perfectly just a lot brighter. To echo what's been said here already, I just boxed up the stock ones for safe keeping. In fact, I'd rather wear out the replacements then have the stock ones fade, etc. You drive your car, get what you like.

Personally, I am not a fan of the c7 style lights on a c6. I had a set of Morimoto XB LED Headlights installed only to remove them 30 days later and re-install the OEM’s for another $500 in labor charges. I was able to sell the C7 style lights back to the shop that installed them at 75% original cost so the loss was somewhat acceptable. I felt they did not look right on my 2013 427 C6, the right angles of the row of internal side lights clashed with the overall curved structure of the front end with the OEM set. Yes, there was improvement in night vision driving but since this is not a daily driver, that was not a core factor in the purchase decision.

I've never been able to put my finger on why they don't look right to me...you just nailed it!
