really needs an explanation? They do what they claim to do. Most negative outlooks on throttle controllers are from guys who don't purchase them. Then there's manufacturing defects for sure, but a part of negative reviews come from people who don't fully seat the connections. I don't risk bricking my ecm by over adjusting throttle tables and I can adjust my controller in a few seconds if the woman is gonna drive the car. Don't want one don't get one, but it's hard to have an opinion on a product you've never experienced.
now read the part of the post that was quoted when I said "another one" and combine that with the explanation i gave you and put 2 and 2 together. I'm happy to help you out, but definitely shouldn't have to spell it out to this degree. Lemme know if i can be of further assistance as I'm always happy to help.

No thanks, your "help" is the last thing I need.
I'll give you the last word, because I really don't care that much.
Throttle boosters (it should also be noted the majority of them can also be used to retard response) work as advertised, with the noted potential negatives in a very small percentage of cases. First time I have heard of one causing any issues other than going back to the normal slow, laggy throttle response after removing it.
I've had a Vitesse on my GS since shortly after they came out, with zero issues. I got exactly the throttle response I wanted without potentially bricking my pcm by modifying the throttle tables with HP Tuners. Don't buy one if you think they are snake oil. If you think you want to try one they are relatively inexpensive and you can resell them here on the forum.
I've had a solid experience with Vitesse as well. Installed one on my 08 LS3 and it worked flawlessly for more than six years. When I picked up my 12 Centennial Ed. MN6 GS in Nov. 2022, another Vitesse unit was one of my first purchases.

I bought one, I seated the connections, it still caused issues... Most of the people who praise throttle controllers are guys who want to feel good about spending 200 bucks on snake oil. I can honestly say I enjoyed it for a few days but the more I drove with it on (before it caused all the rampant issues it did) the less I liked it anyway. It was quite jarring and I felt like it took smoothness out of the pedal, anything past sport 4 was just useless and I'm not even sure why they felt the need to add more than that. I see why they cause a placebo effect of making the car feel more responsive. After taking it out and clearing out the various issues it caused along the way I can say 100% I don't miss it and my right foot is perfectly capable of commanding the same response in a much more linear fashion. If you have one and you love it, good on you, I wish you the best and I hope you don't encounter any gremlins. To say that everyone against them just "hasnt tried one" or "didnt install it right" is a fallacy. After my experience I would not recommend one to anyone and sit firmly back in the "Throttle Controllers are Snake Oil" camp.

never said everyone. I said most and I stand by that. Sure, there are people who had it and it didn't work out through no fault of their own, but for the most part these devices do what they advertise and they seem to have a rather large following from people who want to bash them and make baseless claims despite never owning one. The companies who produce them seem to keep growing and there are thousands and thousands sold every year. I paid 300 bucks for my pedal commander and that price is absolutely insane. I'm satisfied with it and don't at all need to "feel good" about spending the money. A lousy 300 bucks is pretty insignificant in the end. The big picture shows that the satisfaction rate of throttle controllers from people who actually purchase them remains high. There are plenty of negative reviews as well, which you'll have with any manufacturered product. Some of those reviews are legit and some are user error.

Agree, loved my vitesse, love my PC. I'm all for calling out snake oil but a TC isn't snake oil. Snake oil to me would be like those electric, car battery turbo fans you can install.
