Hey 👋 everyone! Hope y’all are enjoying the long 4th of July weekend! Considering changing the exhaust on my C6 base to the Corsa Xtreme exhaust. Anyone else have this brand exhaust?
Young kids typically like Corsa because they are obnoxious.
That being said, they are only obnoxious when you remove cats. Otherwise they are decently tame.
as far as Corsa vs Borla……do you prefer the sound of a 6.0+ pushrod v8, or a 5.0 modular v8?
Typically the Coyote guys go Gaga over Corsa. Any other v8 guy with a pushrod can’t stand Corsa. Personally I am not a fan and have had 2 sets on 2 diff cars.
The factory exhaust/muffler still sounds great. It’s just I’ve been reading on people making changes to their muffler/exhaust systems for more of a beefy rumble. Honestly, I’m pretty content with my baby. Just wanted advice and I thank you.
I’m asking if the Corsa has a more beefy sound over the Borla exhaust system. More people seem satisfied with the Corsa brand.
I have Corsa on my C6 that’s S/C’d and I like the sound. It’s one of those personal choices in that either you like it or you don’t. I have the X-pipe crossover and did not remove the cats. Plenty loud enough for my likes but not intrusive or droning at highway crusing speeds.
The exhaust is the first thing I changed when I purchased my car as it sounded like a singer sewing machine. I narrowed my choices down to the Corsa Sport and Borla S Type II. I chose the Borla as I liked the deeper sound it produced. Folks on this forum lean heavily toward the Corsa for some reason. Buy what sounds best to you as it is your car and money.
I think the Corsa thing people lean to is because of the supposed quality and they typically like a raspier sound. You will never get drone with a Corsa no matter what you do as well. So it’s a safe bet for stupid loud and no drone.
IMHO, the Corsa quality is no better than any of the other big brands though. If anything, I give them a touch lower score for dumb things like not even fully welding their tips. They tend to just add a couple tacks and for the price they command, they should be fully welded in my opinion.
I have cam, longtubes WITH CATS, and corsa sport mufflers, my car is pretty tame. cold start is loud(ish), but warm idle and driving around is good. no drone in the cab. it wakes up when you go WOT. personally, I think its a good balance.
I found these videos on YouTube.
I chose Corsa Xtreme axle back 4.5 polished tips. I'm 54.
I have Kooks long tubes, hi-flow cats and Kooks mid pipe.
The Corsa may weigh slightly less than the Borla as well, and definitely less than the factory mufflers.
The Corsa Xtremes punch holes in the air like no other.

My '07 came with the Extremes already installed. I'd personally prefer the Sports (I know my neighbors would) since I usually have the top down, but the Extremes are good mufflers. They have a nice, low rumble when you're cruising, don't drone much, and sound impressively angry under WOT. I'd like the rumble to be a few decibels lower, but it's not enough to motivate me to change them out. Definiitely lets the world know you're driving a 400+ HP V8.

Do you have any sound clips of fly bys, casual strolling by, idle, coldstart, etc? Also do you know how loud volume wise on the outside this would be compared to a Borla S Type II + Headers and also drone wise (probably has less but I hear the S Type II’s have little to no drone even with headers???)
Bek Bek, I held off for 17 years buying an exhaust, worried about drone, being too loud in cabin, too loud around my small town etc…Finally, I took the plunge last summer and went with Corsa Extremes on my stock LS2 because I found a used mint set. I wish I had done it 17 years ago. It is not loud in cabin, there’s no drone, and when you hammer it it sounds great. You will not be disappointed.

That sounds promising and definitely a point for the Corsas but the real question is would this be the same case if it were a Corsa Sport with headers? I’m a sucker for the rich sound the headers bring out which is why I don’t just go with a Catback alone but I don’t want it to drone like crazy or be overly loud for the neighborhood in the mornings
I did the same thing. Went out to a bunch of cars & coffee meets. I ask to hear and to to ask what they had. Eventually went to corvettes at Carlisle and had them install the Borla S Type II. I loved the car even more!! That was in 2015. I fall more in love even more as I added and modified it as I went along. Good luck with hunting!
If you are just asking for opinions. Personally i prefer stock (NPP for me) as far as sound.
Borla always sounds deeper, sounds to me like quality, but ill keep stock for the price.
Personally HATE what ive heard from Corsa, sounds cheap, tin-ish high pitched and like others have said, just obnoxious for no apparent reason. I have a guy in my car club with a mustang with a Corsa exhaust he spent a lot on and likes to show off, its literally the worst sounding car ive heard in my life and you can hear it for 5 minutes after he leaves. I would take a beat down honda accord with the pipe dragging on the ground over a Corsa.
Go with what you like, just keep some extra cash for the tickets you going to catch if you go loud.
