My car was hit yesterday while it was parked and I don’t know what route to take. I’m thinking either i can try to fix it up as best I can, or purchase a new front bumper. Just need some second opinions and to see if anyone has happened to deal with this as well.

Doesn't look like you need a new bumper, any body guy can sand and fill the deep scratches and re-paint.
The bigger problem is something is bent behind the fender and bumper, the gap around the head light is now off, plus it looks like the headlight could be cracked and will fog up eventually

When I get the chance I’m going to take the bumper off so I can diagnose that issue with the bend. Thanks for the help!!
From the pic it looks very repairable....... that you need to pull the bumper and do an inspection. Some people really do SUCK.......sorry to see the damage. It's minor, but it still is a PITA to have to get everything back to "normal".....good luck!
-self repair, source own parts
-shop repair, I source parts, install everything, they just paint/blend
-shop do full work, pay out of pocket
-insurance claim it
You'll likely just be out your deductible and roughly a 10% premium increase or so insurance wise. Imo it's never really worth it to make a claim unless it's act of God or other party admits fault. They just love bending the average person over when it comes to renewals.
What could have hit you that scrapped the bottom of your bumper? Wasn't another driver was it?
I have no idea what it was that hit me, I was at a birthday party and when I was leaving I saw all the damage. I about cussed out the entire neighborhood.
Regardless this isn't something you want to sit on if you're going the insurance route. File a police report and connect with your insurance company right away. Different insurance companies have different policies with regards to when you notify them, so make sure you know yours and don't give them an easy way out of paying for it.
The same thing happened to me but on my trailblazer. Filled a report with GEICO they sent me to a shop and had a loaner waiting for me. By the end of the week the work was done and all was well. The only thing I was out was my deductible which I lowered to $250 a year earlier. My rates did not go up because car was parked and I was not at fault. If you have a good policy as you should on a Vette that’s the only way to go.

I've had it happen to me six times so far. My dash cam with motion detection is going to be installed next weekend. Next time it happens someone is paying for it, and it's not going to be me this time.

I'm having an Aukey DRO2P installed with both front and rear cameras. When you get the optional hardwire harness the camera has a motion detector that will activate when the car is off. I've gotten pretty tired of having to fork out $500 for my deductible every time someone wants to be an *******.
Op I feel your pain...In 2011 my 2007 was hit while parked in a drug store parking lot while I was in the store. It was spun 180 degrees in it parking spot...Luckily a policeman riding on the street heard it and drove into the parking lot and blocked the driver has they were trying to flee....Car was fixed perfectly about 8 weeks later all new genuine GM parts...12k bucks back then...Good as new. Good luck with your repair...
