OK, you think you felt silly taking a pic of your car? Last spring we were on a road trip to the Outer Banks of NC in our C6 and my wife had decided beforehand that she wanted to RECREATE a pic we took on our honeymoon, in almost the exact spot, in 1976 in my '67 vert. So here are side by side pics of me, so cool back in the day. Who knew that we would someday have a president in a green '67 vert with aviators on. No commentary please! Hard to see much of a difference, except for the newer car, the gray hair and the tat on the right shoulder. I had thrown away the original hat a few years ago, not ever expecting to recreate this scene, especially in a 2012 C6. I bought this hat on flea bay for almost 4 times what the original cost, because now it's VINTAGE. I guess I am too. Talk about feeling silly on the side of the road. OH, and my wife kept telling me to suck in my gut!
It's nice to see so many locals. I'm also in Cypress, but took this at Twin Peaks in The Woodlands. I don't take mine out too often in this extreme heat because I don't want my 4LT dash to melt.
As soon as I read "while I was pulled over in the only Shady spot in the parking lot" I knew you had to be in Texas. I'm in Cypress.

Beautiful Vettes to both of you. The heat this year in Texas is brutal. I've bowed out of several car shows and meets this summer so far because of it. Not that I can't take it, but because I work in the concrete world. I'm in the elements this time of year 60 to 75 hours a week(5 days). So when the weekend comes.... I just want to be at home in the air conditioning to recover before I have to repeat the process come Monday morning.

I hear ya! I passed on a bunch of car events this summer because I don't like to take mine out if I need the AC on. I've had mine out ONCE this summer, and it was early morning...I was back home before it became too hot.

The one show I have to do is the 1st Sunday of the month(this coming Sunday) in The Woodlands at Market Street. Kinda have to be there since my better half hosts the event. It's early morning and we wrap up usually around 10:30am.... you should bring yours out if you get a chance. Just a heads up though. We fill up all of Market Street by 7:00am for our Cars and Coffee event.

Dang, I'd have to get up really early! I might head up to check out the cars, but I'd drive my SUV. My GS is nothing special, so I don't take it to any C&C's.

You and me both. But mine is somewhat special. It's one of only ~100 Jetstream Blue convertibles built in 2011 (even fewer with gray top and mag ride).
I'm actually noticing this more and more that most of the vehicles on the road today are seemingly black, white, and shades of silver and gray. I think that's why I also ended up with a blue one. My next Vette will be red.
