Default TPMS Relearn. Help!

Hey all,
I put New Wheels and Tires and TPMS. The tire shop put them on. They said the tpms won't sink with the car & can't go into reset mode. They said I have to go to the dealer to get them reset. I bought the relearn tool on Amazon. EL-50448. I can't get it to relearn. Followed the you tube videos. I also drove the car around for about 25 miles figuring that might do something. Can you give me some advice.Thanks.

When you hold the lock/unlock does the horn beep when it goes into programming mode? If it does when you start at the left front tire does it do a single beep at each tire and then a double beep when you get to the left rear? I programmed my new sensors with the amazon tool and it couldn't have been any easier. I also pr programmed mine before I had the new tires to mounted to be sure that they would work.

I didn’t realize I could have done it before the tires got mounted. Yes, I followed the procedure.
Accessory mode-hold down lock & unlock button and car beeps. Take the tool to the front left tire. No beep. I do have tires readings in the information section. No XX. But can’t tell if it’s remembering the old sensors.
I thought it would be easy as it’s in the video.
Thanks for your response.

Did you get the correct sensors? I believe 2010-2013 cars show one part number for tpms, while 2005-2009 have a different part number. What year is your C6? The part number I used for my 2012 was ACDelco part# 20925924. Got the sensors from Amazon.

On mine I would have to hold the button down and move the tool around the sensor and it would finally recognize the sensor and the horn would beep. It took me a few tries to find the sweet spot to get the tool close enough to the sensor to program

Like TorchRedFred said, I wonder if its the correct sensor. I also used a P/N# 20925924 from Amazon in my 2011

it sounds like you may have picked up the incorrect sensors.

Were the TPM sensors pre-programmed ???
If not, then the TPMS need to be programmed before you can synch them to the Vette.

Exactly which sensors did you buy?

I have the same relearn tool. I replaced my 2006 sensors after 10 years, purchased the GM 25758220 sensors from Rock Auto. I had them put on with new wheels and tires.
Programmed them as per the procedure without any issues.

If you purchased sensors other tham GM or Schrader , then it's typically hit or miss as to whether they sync with the car computer.
If they are OEM sesors, you could have a bad one. Out of the 4 I purchased, the RR failed after 1 month. I programmed a new one off the car, then had it installed at a shop. My suggestion is to put the car in relearn mode, then skip the one that didn't beep, and to RF to see if it beeps, and if it does, then follow to the end. You my have a bad sensor on LF.
BTW, if the programming isn't completed, it will not take any of the sensors, and go back to prior trying the relearn.
Good Luck

I ordered the wheels & TPMS from CARID. TPMS...Smart Sensor 17-43041. I'm lowering the air out of some of the tires to see if there would be a change on the DIC. It doesn't seem to make a difference right away. I lowered the front left and now the right front. Let's see. Get back to ya.

The smart sensors are multi frequency, so that could be an issue, as the C6 sensors are 315MZ. If the tire shop does not have a Tech 400/500 type device to clone them into an OEM/Schrader sensor, then you may have to bite the bullet and buy the OEM sensors, which can be relearned using your relearn tool.
Many on this forum have found out the hard way that buying non OEM sensors are a crap shoot.
I wish you the best of Luck.
