Hi everyone! Here goes————
I bought my 2007 C6 in July. Uneducated as I was, I failed to notice the 2” spacers on the rear hubs keeping the wheels sitting nicely in the wheel wells. The prev owner did a rear Z06 Wide Body conversion however, he neglected to do the front end so it remains as a base model. Maybe a cost thing.
The current wheels I have are aftermarket 427 Cup/Grand Sport.
The front wheels are fine with the +57 offset because it’s the base. My rear wheels are a +79 and they would work fine on a base Corvette, but because of the Z06 fenders, the spacers are required.
I have a two options that I can think of.
I can buy a wide body kit for the front but it would be around $8k by the time the fenders, liners, bumper are bought. Maybe I do the removal and replacement or I have someone do it for me. But then I would still need to get it paint to match. Then I would need new wheels and tires. I’d be somewhere around $15k with my guesstimate.
SO… I have searched wheels. To leave the front it remains I need a +57 offset. That’s doable. The rear of my car as mentioned is a Z06 so that offset is +59. I can get a wheel with a +56/57 (same as front) because I’m within the 5mm. That’s provided I leave the front end alone, I still can’t use my wheels because of the rear offset. It’s a whole big old mess is what it is.
The car looks good imo so maybe the wheels are the way to go to save $.
However, replacing the front end would look more like the Z06.
thoughts and insights and any knowledge of past endeavours is quite welcomed.
thanks.

Many members on here have done only the wide body conversion on the rear only. A pic would be nice, but for the most part, it should look OK with the correct wheels.
Why don't you just buy the correct ZO6 wide wheels with the correct offset, new rear tires and see how you like it. Did the previous owner get long wheel studs to make up for the width of the spacers? If not, that would be a bone of contention for many.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply.
I have searched and talked with many sellers to get a set of rears and fronts with the right offsets. When I’m said and done the Cup wheels I have now will be no good because I can’t find a set for the rear that match. There is a guy on Kijiji but he won’t separate his set and I don’t blame him. To buy his wheels is $5500 and the fronts are no good to me.
So, I have to replace all four wheels plus rubber.

Are you stuck on keeping the front wheels you have? If not, you could buy whatever grand sport, z06, zr1, or aftermarket wide body wheels you want. The fronts will fit, just barely, on a narrow body car.

You're not going to find many people willing to sell.just rear wheels, and they're gonna going to have that machined face like your current wheels because that was an aftermarket only option (maybe c7s had it too, not sure on that).

I'd just buy a nice set of z06 Spyder wheels and put tires on them and be done.

Thanks for the reply.
I’m not stuck on keeping the 427 Cups.
There is a seller on (Kijiji) here in Ontario and he has a full set of OEM 427 Cup Wheels. The front offsets of his are +40 and stock is +59 so there is no way that would look good. The wheels would stick out too far.
I’ve asked he would consider separating but he won’t even tho I’ve offered a good amount for them- he’s had the set listed for at least two months.
Maybe I can wait him out.

Nice looking Vette, have you thought about selling your wheels and getting some others?

Funny you ask.
I’ve had my set listed since mid September with only one reply asking for my best price. The Pilot Sport 4’s have maybe 1000 km’s on them and the aftermarket Cups are near flawless. Never heard back from him. So, still for sale.

Isn't the term for a wide body conversion only on the rear called a Wide Booty? Maybe do a search for that.

Have you looked at Bob's House of Wheels to see if he has the correct wheels?
